I was enrolled at UF from 2006-2010. I saw two titles in football and two in basketball. All four were amazing experiences to watch and be a part of as a fan and I wouldn't give up any of them for the other. National titles in basketball are just as exciting if not more so than those in football if only because the tournament creates a true champion and, frankly, are a more novel experience for a "football school."

Honestly, if Auburn could have a NC in football, a Sweet 16/Elite 8 in Baskeball, and make it to Omaha combined with our normal success in Swimming & Diving, Equestrian, ect and for icing on the cake let's say we finally beat Alabama in Women's Gymnastics? I'm pretty sure I've just described the greatest athletic season in school history for which Jay Jacobs would likely receive a statue and the state of Alabama might never recover

basketball title? ... with this program? ...

I would trade half of our football national championships for one in basketball.

Another aspect is that Donovan is without a doubt my favorite UF coach ever in any sport. Hell, I might be willing to trade in one of Meyers titles if it guaranteed this years bball team won the NC.

At this point in history just and SEC title ins't enough. that probably mean you lost in the championship. NO one is happy with that.
So a Championship for a Championship.

I love Gator FB, obviously, but id rather win the hoops nc over sec in football.

Winning a basketball title easily trumps a SEC championship.
I look at basketball and football as equals.

I'd take the basketball national championship in a heartbeat. We've never won a NC in any sport.

"I said I'd take a SEC championship in football over a basketball national title but most seem to disagree with me. What's the rant think"?
Why are you taking this position when your school is currently a lot closer to a basketball national title than an SEC title?
