I hate this stupid what if game. What if Aggies didn't have little brother syndrome? What if Mack Brown didn't shite his pants every time he saw Bob stoops on the other side of the field?
We can do this all day. Accept the results and move the frick on.

I would rather not have played Colt than played him. he was a helluva QB. Would Texas had won? we'll never know but Bama caught a break knocking him out.

Exactly we'll never know.. injuries are part of the game we lost. It is time for some of our fans to move the frick on.

That’s funny, because he had 2 completions for 9 passing yards, and zero rushing yards.

In the 13 years since that game some Texas fans have mythologized it that Colt was just marching up and down the field. Texas had like 20 yards of offense before he got hurt. Colt SUCKED against good defenses. Look at his games against Nebraska and Oklahoma the only top 20 teams he played. Alabama had the #1 defense in the nation that year. Plus Colt didnt play linebacker and Bama had two 100 yard rushers in that game. It was close late but Bama was never in any real danger of losing

IIRC, Bama barely threw the ball that game anyway. Very different times. Colt might have done enough to put pressure on them, not sure.

Correct. After Colt went out Bama just knew they needed to play ball control and not give up a turnover. A month before McElroy was the SEC Championship game MVP and he outplayed Tebow.

I'll go on record and say Colt's injury might have actually helped Texas to some degree as there was no film/way to prep for Gilbert, but the Texas pass rush deserves serious credit in that game. McElroy attempted 11 passes and got sacked 5 times. Also that secondary was full of absolute ball hawks led by Earl Thomas

And that game was very much in jeopardy as Texas had the ball down 3 with 3 minutes left in the game. But ultimately, Bama deserved to win as they did run all over the best run D in cfb that night

Sounds like a lot folks I see on losing teams in online games.

McElroy was playing with bruised ribs and couldn’t throw it much at all.
