Stans, as good of a recruiter and coach as he was, ran their program in to the ground the last 3 years he was there. Ray reminds me a lot of Croom (inb4racist) after Sherrill. Sherrill was a great coach for State but ran the program into the ground his last few years. Croom, while a horrible coach, cleaned up the shite and put down a foundation of hard working players for Mullen to inherit and build their football program into what it is now.
Ray is doing the same thing. His situation is identical to the same situation Croom was given. He's cleaning the shite out of the program and building a base of hard working players so the next guy that comes in can build upon it. State won't stay down in basketball for very long.
