our players seem to have learned better with that style than what is happening now.

also at some point we have to question if its possible that all of our highly recruited d line men are bust or if its a coaching/scheme problem.

Consider how many former D-Lineman have been moved to offensive line? Hell Miles is a suppose offensive lineman genius and he keeps moving defensive players over? That bothers me for some reason especially after watching our D-Line struggle to generate pressure.

Was a discussion today if LSU were to win every game by 1 for rest of season would we jump an undefeated Cal, Texas, Penn State and play for National Title.

In the SEC you would.

they dont help against gimmies like vandy/washington and ull but against the aubbies a win like we had vs washington should be fine.

our secondary has looked a little better but you have to look at all the drops and missed throws the vandy/ull wrs and qbs have had. plus if harry coleman can't tackle a ull wr how will he tackle a sec wr like green

yea that defiantly doesnt help but it just seems like even our highly touted de's and dt's cant get a push for shite. alem has been disappointing all year to me so far. He has made some plays but not near what he should be making vs the teams we have played

There is no leader among the defense yet either, remember how fired up Dorsey/LaRon/Zenon and players like that got?
I remember Dorsey having no problem getting the defensive players together to talk before even the coaches could once they got back to sidelines. I do not see any of that now.

that seems to be lacking as of late with LSU. we didn't have that last year and we dont have it this year. Im not sure who could be that on this d other than PP but no one on the line or linebackers as that to me.

I disagree, you are talking 1 point wins, which would include La Tech/Tulane vs teams that are also undefeated and possible winning by 10+ points.
Auburn is proof that just because one is SEC champ they are not an automatic invite to Championship.
While style points do not matter to the computer, the human still have a say and many only look at boxscores. I believe they would keep LSU behind Penn State/Texas/Cal if those 3 were undefeated and winning by larger margins than LSU by 1. That alone could keep LSU from any title game as in BCS they may be 3/4 still.

Peterson is not a leader to me, sure he called Jones out but on the field he is showboating after minor stops. Hell I watched replay of game today and I saw him showboat after he stopped a ULL player on a second down play. That bothers me and shows he needs to grow up a little bit more. No one has taken control of defense and had them rally around a particular player. The offense is same way, Scott/LaFell/Black/Jefferson all should be leaders but they have yet to fully embrace that roll.

And always will continue to use them. Its impossible to enforce at Home. They tried flagging us a few years back when we were pretty good, but the refs stopped doing it after a couple of games.

Stack the box on defense and stop the run. Make Jefferson beat you with his arm.

On offense, ball control and clock management.

and most important More Cowbell.

to a good game.

For those of you LSU fans going to the game this Saturday, you will see some of the "MORE COWBELL" skit with Christopher Walken from SNL on our Massive Jumbotron during Pregame.

LSU probably wins but State can make this a good game if they:

1)Start Relf and keep him in most of the game. Good things always happen when he's in. Run that Florida/Tebow style offense.

2)Keep the same defensive intensity as last week. Yeah it was Vandy but LSU didn't exactly kill them.

3)Control the clock. Beat them in the clock game.

4)Get a couple breaks.

GP, you're right on the UF - MSU thing...

Florida hates the Magnolia state. What's their record against Ole Miss since 1985 as well?

Perhaps we can change the permanent rotation, that ought to do it

The LSU streak in this series is nothing short of unexplainable. Even in the 1990's Hallman years we beat State. The only year they actually won the game was decided by a phantom touchdown on which replays (not in use at the time) actually showed the football never crossed the goal line. I think it was on fourth down also if I am not mistaken. That said, this game could be close much like last year if LSU doesn't improve play on the OL and commits a TO or two.
