LSU - 17
Missouri - 13

LSU would have jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and then attempted 1 pass a quarter for the remainder of the game. Missouri would have finished the game on the LSU 17 yard line

Ah the Tennessee and A&M fans getting together and jerking each other off about how pitiful Missouri is. Lets examine the last ten years shall we?

Vs UT: 3-1 including 2-0 at Neyland.
Vs A&M: 7-2 including 4-2 in College Station.
Missouri 4 appearances in conference championship.
No need to even have to explain Tennessee and A&M on these two.

10-3 with 6-2 record at our two homes away from home. If we suck so bad... what about you guys? We admittedly don't have the offseason hardware you two have!

LSU would have led 21-0 at half time and hung on to win 21-17

We would have gone up 21-0 at half. Then immediately slammed on the offensive breaks; while giving up chunks of yards defensively.

LSU wins 21-20

Beat me to it, Lithium

Miles hardly ever blew out anybody.

With the exception of 2011, but that team was so freaking stacked top to bottom, even Les could frick it up against inferior opponents.

I assert the final score would not have been significantly different with Miles at the healm. Mizzu certainly wouldn't have had anymore success on offense than they did.

It would have been a close game and a possible loss due to poor coaching, a deflated team, a deflated crowd and no Fournette for Miles to run into a brick wall. I think your waaaaay off. LSU hasn't played a game that complete since 2013. Our D even played way better than they had all year. Huge difference. We didn't come close to blowing out State or even Jacksonville State like that with Miles on the sideline.

All reasonable arguments. But this year is this year, and like it or not, Missouri is very bad this year.

You can argue the team let up and that's on the coach, but make no mistake: LSU dominated them just a thoroughly as they did Mizzu when they put forth the effort.

see that was a big issue with Les. Once he got a comfortable lead, he completely let off the gas until the other team made it interesting. No, this didn't always happen, but it happened far more than it should. The State game is a perfect example. And it was happening more and more as the years went on.

Probably a win.

Not nearly as satisfying as what we got, but probably a win.

To answer your underlying question, there's no magical change. This isn't going to suddenly be an SEC championship caliber team. They've still got a couple losses ahead.
