Weird, could you list some players who have been refused admission because of academics?

After Kemp UGA enacted standards above NCAA requirements and they consistently lost recruits during the Goff years to other schools who would admit 'non-qualifiers'.

Weird, can you list former players that could barely read and please tell me about one math major who doesn't know the quadratic equation.

The point is he wasn't drunk.

Was drunk per legal age or wasn't drunk per under age?

“Drunk” isn’t based on age, but rather level of inebriation.

I’m actually on team Etienne for this one. Considering it was 4:35 am and he blew BELOW a 0.08, he likely got drunk the night before and crashed for a bit, waiting to sober up. A lot of people don’t realize how low 0.08 actually is. That’s a very light buzz (some of you guys wouldn’t even feel it depending on your tolerance) and it doesn’t take long to get there (I’m talking 2 to 3 beers in an hour, 4 to 5 in 2 hours for a guy his size). I used to carry around a breathalyzer in college for fun. He probably thought he was fine and didn’t even feel it at that point. It takes forever for that shite to leave your system.

At least he didn’t keep drinking and burn a woman alive with his Corvette. Bama fans probably think that situation was worth it for the championship.

4:30am means he quit drinking earlier and left the party. He should’ve stayed wherever he was and slept it off or got someone sober to drive him. Athletes don’t get into these situations for making smart decisions. What’s incredibly dumb is they have the money and resources to ensure they don’t get behind the wheel intoxicated, yet they decide to do it anyways.

He blew below a 0.08. That is absurdly low. Anyone in here who has an above average tolerance wouldn’t even feel it at that point. You don’t just keep partying til 4:30 am, but stop drinking at like midnight. It means he either crashed or deliberately waited to sober up and got behind the wheel not realizing it takes longer to leave your system and just because you don’t feel it doesn’t mean it’s not in your system. And if he was 2 years older it would’ve been completely legal and to be honest, commendable.

Bunch of pussies on here. Seriously.

Don't know if I'd call that lesser. Plenty of DUIs are handed out to people who aren't that inebriated. Hell, a lot of people don't know but a cop can declare you DUI/DWI with no breath or other test. Just their judgement. But in our rush to punish the worst offenders (the guys who get lit, drive 100 mph and kill people) we've made a mess of DUI and driving laws.

Not just that, in college you could easily have someone drive your car to you so you don't even need to worry about that.

This likely wouldn’t come close to putting you over the legal limit, unless you’re a small woman or a child.

0.02 per drink, on average, and your body metabolizes at a rate of one drink per hour. Again, on average.

Zero chance a college athlete would blow a 0.08 after 2-3 beers.

Wrong. Don’t know where you got 0.02 for every beer, that’s impossible to determine because it stays in your system while you’re drinking your next drink. It’s about time, weight, and amount drank for the most part. 3 beers in an hour would put a 200 pound man (Etienne) right around 0.08. If he ate a lot before, possibly 4. But 0.08 is not “drunk.” It’s just over the limit. And he blew below that at 4:35 am. Hence, he likely chose to “sober up” unless he decided to randomly pound 3 or 4 at 3:30 or 6 between 2:30 and 4:30. Unlikely.

A lot of people assume 0.08 means you’re wasted. These people are idiots and should breathalyze themselves for fun. He probably didn’t feel a damn thing and thought he was good. Someone with a higher tolerance wouldn’t even feel it at 0.08. (High tolerance doesn’t mean lower BAC, it means you can handle higher BAC’s).

He’s a 19 year old college student who, 18 months from now would be commended for not driving home a few hours before. But he’s being ragged on here. Only thing he did wrong was drink under age which is what every single person on this board did in college. Dumb.

0.02 is an average for adult men. Your body metabolizes at a rate of 0.015-0.02 per hour. Yeah, there are other factors. No, a 200lb grown man isn’t blowing 0.08+ after having 3 drinks in an hour.

Just saw on Channel 2 News. That Etienne was running away from the police doing 80-90 MPH. Until He was blocked by a security gate. Doesn’t look good. But I am sure Kirby will have some football tickets to smooth this over.

Knowing he wasn’t close to wasted does make it much better.
