Yet, he was under the influence.

The limit for under 21 in Georgia is .02, which is common across the US.

It’s still a DUI with the same penalty as an adult over .08.

Thats worse than blowing over the limit at the legal age

All the fake outrage over a kid in college drinking is hilarious. Everyone knows they can't beat us in football so they are desperate that something else will derail us. It's honestly so funny to watch.

So your running back is dumb enough to get a DUI while sober?

We beat you so your version of reality is a little outdated.

You don’t go from stone cold sober to legally drunk (0.08) with the addition of one drink.

0.08 is a very low bar for “drunk”

It's more the drinking and driving part that upsets people usually.

I see Kirby donated more to the local police fraternity. Not sure why it took so long, it's also tax deductible.

Doesn't matter....we'll trash Clemson with Cash Jones, our 3rd string walk-on RB playing most of the snaps. (yawn)

People probably wouldn't make such a big deal out of it if there wasn't an epidemic of reckless driving in the UGA program right now. I've never seen anything like it, and apparently Kirby has no interest in addressing it.

The reckless charge would be an indicator that the alcohol was affecting him.

Not really.

DAs and cops like to stack charges in hopes one will stick. If you are arrested for DUI, you are pretty much guaranteed to also have a reckless driving which will be nolle prossed if you plead guilty to the DUI charge. They also throw in a minor traffic violation to justify the stop -- like improper lane change. Etienne got stopped because he was leaving an area with bars late at night. That's it.

Yes, it's about 3 beers over an hour for an average sized male. It used to be 0.12 which is much harder to reach...but MADD and insurance companies.

I don't understand why you personally aren't genuinely outraged after what happened when kids were drinking and driving over there not too long ago.

This "kids will be kids" mentality needs to change quickly before other lives are lost unnecessarily.

It’s all about context.

0.06 just isn’t worthy of outrage.
