I have no idea. How is academic fraud going at GT? Y’all are quite experienced at that.

It's not the bar for being drunk, it's the bar for drunk driving.

Did you mean to quote the guy who said?

quote:

You don’t go from stone cold sober to legally drunk (0.08) with the addition of one drink.

Really? Could you be more oblivious? You support a team with THE worst graduation rate in all of college athletics and a history of documented academic fraud. If you have or know of proof of academic fraud at Tech then please by all means post it up, or call up the NCAA, use the academic fraud hotline- 1800-Jan-Kemp.

How drunk he was doesn’t even matter, he’s under 21- all levels of drinking or drinking and driving is illegal.

Georgia law makes it a DUI if you are under 21 and have a BAC of .02% or more. That is one beer and a bullshite law. A young college student shouldn't be facing jail time and a DUI record for drinking one beer. If you want to charge him with underage drinking, then do so.

That's the law in Tennessee too. And it's not dumb. People, kids especially, don't need to be drinking and then getting behind the wheel of a car. Flirting with the grey area between being dead sober and legally intoxicated is irresponsible.

But it does because we are talking about how drunk one is.

Rest easy dawgs, I'm sure Kirby will find a way to get him back on the field just in time for the Texas game.

It's stupid to suspend kids from games in general. It's nothing more then appeasement to the fans of other teams.

As if anything other than some public form of punishment is somehow not punishment. There is an entire justice system setup to punish people.

When as many as 15 players - many of them rising seniors - a year go to the NFL it’s gonna affect your grad rate. Not to mention the players that go into the portal looking for playing time. That’s what happens when you have an elite team. Everyone doesn’t get to play as much as they want.
Of course, GT wouldn’t know anything about that.

As for academic fraud at Georgia. The Jan Kemp episode back in the mid 1980s didn’t break any NCAA rules - only rules UGA had created for themself. There was no NCAA academic problem and hasn’t been any since. And btw Jan Kemp was discredited when she apparently tried out her little story again. I don’t remember all the details as it’s been almost 40 years but i think this time UGA provided immediate proof she was wrong.
She was reportedly a sad woman with mental issues who served almost a year in jail for stubbornly refusing to pay child support to her ex husband. She didn’t back down. I’ll give her that. Tragically she died soon after getting out of jail.
She was a good sport from what I hear. I heard that at some type of charity fundraiser she sat in a dunking tank and let people throw balls trying to dunk her in the water. I heard the lines were long. Too bad I missed that. I like helping charity.

GT, on the other hand, got in big time trouble with the NCAA in 2005 for academic fraud for playing ineligible players and refusing to cooperate with the investigation. A lack of institutional control - and that alone could get you the death penalty - was also charged.
GT was ordered to serve a 2 year probation and forfeit wins. They whined for years, hired lawyers and got some wins restored. Probably paid someone off is my guess. It’s all on line if you doubt it. You are either very very young, have selective amnesia or dumber than dirt to not remember this shameful GT episode.

Georgia learned from the Jan Kemp
”scandal” and Georgia now has high academic standards for athletes as well as the student body. Georgia is now a Public Ivy. Check it out if you refuse to believe it. It’s all on line.

It’s pathetic that GT fans are so bitter and jealous. Georgia lives in their silly little heads 24/7 365. Can’t blame them. It really sucks to be a buzzy bee living in the shadow of the Dawgs.

It won’t be a big deal if this guy sits out Clemson. He would probably be our third or fourth best RB right now. He’s athletic for sure, but it’s gonna take a lot of coaching to get him up to where he needs to be at UGA. By mid to late season he will probably be a force to be reckoned with.

It’s college. Kids are gonna drink and you are fooling yourself if you think otherwise. I drank at college long before I was 21 as did practically everyone I know. The best we can hope for is that kids call will Uber or have a designated driver. They are gonna drink whether or not older and now wiser people like it or not

The actual issue is worse than that. And Bennett exposed it a couple years ago. It’s that UGA football “student” athletes are only part time students. They take 6 credit hours a term to meet the minimum requirement for a scholarship and do 2 short terms in the off season before they finish year 2 of college to meet the 40% progress rules set by the NCAA. They way they schedule their class load requires 6-7 years to graduate and if they change majors it adds a year.

So leaving after 3 years isn’t the issue. College football players routinely graduate in 3 years due to the extra summer credits. 2 classes in summer and fall each and 3 classes in the spring has them with a degree in under 3 years. Whereas the UGA 1 class a term method gets you a low graduation rate.

What’s strange is that Bama, Ohio St etc with similar NFL defection numbers are dramatically better than you in graduating players. Everyone has portal transfers.

bullshite.
“Born in Griffin, Georgia, Kemp earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and a doctorate in English education from the University of Georgia. She began teaching at her alma mater in the developmental program in September 1976. In 1981 Kemp was one of the teachers who complained claiming that Georgia officials had intervened allowing nine college football players to pass a remedial English course, allowing them to play against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl for the national championship in 1981.
Kemp was demoted in 1982 and dismissed one year later. She then filed a lawsuit claiming she had been fired due to her complaints about the passing of players. During the time after she was dismissed Kemp tried to commit suicide twice. The University defended its actions saying that Kemp was dismissed for "disruptive conduct and for failure to conduct adequate scholarly research."[1]
The jury found the University liable for the illegal dismissal of Kemp and she was awarded $2.5 million, which was later reduced to $1.08 million. Kemp was reinstated and University President Fred C. Davison resigned.“

Fair, It happened, an apparent failure in oversight. Lets compare NCAA violations over the history of our programs.

Weird, could you list some players who have been refused admission because of academics? Hell, some of your former players can barely read, and other “math majors” don’t even know the quadratic equation.

.

If you find that pathetic you best look in a mirror son, every time there is any mention of GT on here you respond with a bunch of insane sounding BS. You still haven’t admitted why you are SO obsessed and full of hate for Tech. Seek help before it's too late.
