No, a good flame must have some kernel of truth. No one was "brimming with excitement" or saying that JJ was a "can't miss" prospect. OP made that up to help him sleep at night.

At what cost? Les has ruined so many quarterbacks during his time in BR. It's a real shame.

Baton Rouge: where quarterbacks go regress.

Oxford: where quarterbacks go to do absolutely nothing noteworthy

LSU 10+ wins, 4 seasons in a row.

Ole Miss <10 wins, 4 seasons in a row.

We've been down this road before, 4 seasons in a row.

The LSU fanbase, after recently losing fan favorite and national champion Matt Flynn to graduation, is brimming with excitement over incoming freshman, and Louisiana native, Jordan Jefferson.

Tiger fans, in particular, are excited about Jordan's running ability, general athleticism, size, and his decision making abilities under pressure.

Jordan leaves Destrehan and heads up the River to Baton Rouge as a highly-touted four-star quarterback, a Louisiana class AAAAA state champion, a top 250 player, and one of the top ten players in Louisiana.

Basically, this kid is a can't miss, homegrown product that will lead the Tigahs to a national championship, right?

Please get your facts straight.

No one expected JJ to be a significant factor before that season began. The QB battle was Hatch and Lee.

Les Miles is not really linked to JaMarcus Russell. Nick Saban is more or less the real link there because Nick built the LSU program and deserves almost all credit for nearly any win they mustered from 2005 to 2013. The only QBs Les is linked to are:

Brandon Harris
Jordan Jefferson
Anthony Jennings
Jarrett Lee
Zach Mettenberger

What did he say that was incorrect? He said LSU was brimming with excitement over incoming freshman. Is that not true? Of course it was true. Where did TA say Jefferson was expected to start? Where did TA limit this to just Freshman year? Fact is, JJ never did anything and neither will BH...that's what TA is saying. So, again, what did TA say that was incorrect?

Uhh, Greg McElroy clearly explained this to all SEC fans.

Dude was almost a Rhodes Scholar.

I think Andrew Hatch was on his way to being a Rhodes Scholar until Les Miles ruined him.

So, ULSUA&M,BR is only trying to "win games" now? Given up on the National Championships?

We just played for a national title two seasons ago, with JJ and JLee as our starting QB.

We "only" won 10 games the past two seasons.

No, it's not true, you idiot. When JJ was recruited, RP was LSU's starter, so incoming QBs weren't all that ballyhooed.

What have y'all done since Saban left besides winning a 2 loss National Title with all Saban talent, while lucking out in every way imaginable that year? Miles almost took Saban's undefeated team that year and almost had a 5 loss season.

And you've lost to Alabama three consecutive contests and have split the last two with Ole Miss.
