Just an opinion that deviates from your question. I travel a lot for work. I always stay at places like the Hampton Inn or Marriott's Fairfield. They're only like $40 more than the cheap places, they're quiet, they're clean, and they have free breakfast. Why stay in a dirty, noisy room with a terrible bed and no free breakfast? If you really must save money, stay in Meridian. They have insanely cheap rooms for like $35 (plus tax). Or do what I do when I don't feel like paying anything--sleep in a rest area. There's one at the border of Alabama on I-20 with security at night.

It's not that i don't want to spend money. There aren't any hotels available. Well i did find 1, but im not paying $499 a night with a 2 night minimum.

Decent hookers in lobby IMO.
Save yourself the money and go with the lot lizards at the Decatur truck stop.

T-Town is pretty safe all over. The Hotel is OK for your purpose, to cry on the pillows late Saturday night.

Definitely sounds like a place where meth is cooked and distributed

Meridian is like an hour and a half away I guess if you're coming in from Louisiana or some place far, it's all relative, but damn.
OP, that hotel is not in the fanciest or most exciting area, but if you're just looking for a place to lay your head and grab a shower, I'd say go for it. Better be ready to get to campus early Saturday morning though, cause I don't think that is going to make for a particularly fun or convenient walk.
Me and my friends stayed at a shitty Knights Inn in BR for the Bama LSU game in 2008, and didn't get stabbed by crackheads People are such tightasses

Just go into it knowing it is a shitty hotel like 95% of the ones in Tuscaloosa are.
With as much money as those hotels make during football season, the rarely reinvest it. I try to avoid staying at a hotel whenever I go.

anything named western inn located in the state of Alabama... would stay far away
This X 1000. The neighborhood around the one in Tuscaloosa is pretty safe but I wouldn't stay there.

That is terrifying...I had no idea Howard Johnson's still existed.

Don't be an idiot. The meth is cooked at the Western Inn in CoMo and transported to the T-town branch for distribution.

They've changed management since the on scene filming of Smokey n the Bandit so I'd be careful.

When are you coming in? Why not just go stay in Hoover /Birmingham? If you are there Friday night you will have a shite ton of stuff to do. Western in....not so much.

In one of the most unfortunate trips of all time, my family and I stayed at this shite-hole. (Everywhere else was booked.)
This place is an absolute dump.
I'd rather sleep in my vehicle or on a park bench.
This Western Inn place is likely similar.

Stay at Value Place where the hookers have more STDs than San Francisco

What are you talking about? I just checked. They have Hampton Inn rooms in Birmingham the night before the game at under $150.

God, that sounds like a horrendous place to stay
