Finebaum went on his diatribe about Les being the village idiot of the SEC. He totally went off on a Louisiana caller claiming Les was a better coach Than Lord Saban. He labeled the louisiana caller the idiot call of the year.

Finebaum did mention any coach could win at LSU and basically said LSU is winning despite the idiot that is labled the "Hat".

well, that is all true

...any coach can win at LSU....

Just a plainly ignorant statement. The facts are otherwise. Three of the most recent five coaches who preceded Saban at LSU each had two losing seasons out of four. One coach of the five had four straight losing seasons. Only one of the five had no losing seasons.

If Finebaum or any one else says any coach can win at LSU, that person is ignorant, lying, or both.

Of course winning at LSU is certainly easier than at many other schools, but to not recognize that schools like LSU and Alabama need good coaches to be successful is just plain dumb. How many years did it take Florida to become a power in football? Yet for many years, despite having many built in advantages, the Gators struggled with mediocrity until Spurrier.

Well said. Regardless of what people think of The Hat, he is winning.

Yep, the Hat has the highest winning percentage of any coach since the 1890s at LSU, and is arguably coaching in the most competitive period in SEC history.

The Finebaum ignorant comment about any coach can win at LSU was the point of my thread. I guess paull convienantly forgot that LSU football was totally controlled by Jack A and Charlie C. On the LSU BOS prior to Mark Emmert(sp). Charlie C's grand daughter was hot. I give him that.

F-Bum is just like a jealous little kid!!! Does he not realize that Les has a "SEVEN YEAR" multi-million per year contract plus a heafty buy out----win or lose. Now compare that to the F-Bum's contract and he can be out any day--with just a slip of the forked tounge. We are set for SEVEN YEARS OF PURE GLORY.

Becoming ?? This guy want ever be happy with Miles at LSU unless Miles' tenure ends the same way Jim Pittman's did at TCU in 1971.

name them. There are no doubt lots of good coaches that could do well at LSU, but there aren't many if any at all that would have done better.

I'm sorry your predictions of Les Coker returning LSU to the 90's didn't come true or that he ran over your dog or fricked your sister or whatever he did to you but there is no way you have the kind of success that he's had if he was a terrible coach.

I had to look up Jim Pittman

His act is really tired. I've been a Miles skeptic myself, I don't he's the greatest coach in the world, but he wins game and has recruited some elite talent. Its pretty staggering that some will fault him for anything that goes wrong but won't give him credit for anything that goes right, its kind of pathetic.

Based on what happened at Nebraska and The U, LSU knows there are no sure things as coaches. Saban is one of the few
