Even Shula had a 10 win season with Bama. You barely have to be competent to win at Bama. Bama can sell itself, obviously an elite coach like Saban can make Bama dominant but you dont have to be elite to win at Bama. Thats not true at other schools. Maybe Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan (before Rod), Ohio State....short list.

As I said before, before Saban got to Bama, they weren't Nationally relevant. Saban put Bama back on the map, where they're used to being.

Saban lost to ULM. Does that make him a colossal failure 3 yrs after the fact? Then why do we keep bringing up clock mgmt issues from 2 seasons ago?

Also, Miles outcoached Saban up and down the field this season. So if Miles is incompetent, what does that make Saban?

I wont completely disagree with this. Bama was far more talented than LSU this year and had no business losing this game. This is what happens when youre completely record/stat driven however. Miles has always had a chip on his shoulder when it came to coaching against Saban and has had some of his better games in his 4 games against Saban. If another coach was at Bama, he wouldn't have the same drive. Theres always variables, but I agree, he won against a much more talented Bama team this year.

Was Bama really that much more talented than LSU? Not sure about that. This was one of the more talented LSU teams in a long while.

Thats not even bringing into consideration "luck" calls that Miles have had go his way that if they hadnt, he might not even be the coach at LSU anymore.

Oh,good grief. You Saban lovers are amazing. Like that clown didn't pull some out of his arse when he was at LSU. You think if he'd gone 7-4 or 6-5 two or three times like he almost did the Dolphins would have wanted him and then Alabama ?

He damn sure was a better coach than Little Nickie last November.

LSU made plays on offense against us they didnt make all year. Two long passes, the 4th down reverse. Bamas defense shouldnt have had a problem containing LSU's mediocre offense. You saw Miles reaction after the game. He has that chip that he HAS to show that he is comparable to Saban. I will admit that this year, he did it.

I am absolutely not a "Saban lover". Those make me sick. I'm a Bama lover that appreciates what Saban has done for us. I'm strictly speaking on the game of football. Like I've said, these game people keep bringing up when he was at LSU mean squat to me. The only embarassing loss hes had at Bama was La. Mon in 07. The iron bowl* was a debacle this year as well.

Your degrading of Miles is unwarranted and illogical. As is your judgments of him being incompetent. I'm done discussing this. Next!

You blew it with your attempt to say this past LSU team wasn't talented. It shows how little you're aware of what you're talking about.

well you can keep saying it all you want, but pardon the pun its part of the "process" as to what he did at LSU and where he his today. If he had bombed at LSU, he wouldn't be coaching Alabama. And to keep harping on Miles' luck you're being dishonest if you don't acknowledge how lucky Saban has been or at least was at times at LSU. Look what all had to happen out of LSU's control for LSU to get to the SEC title game in '01. Also, LSU was two lucky plays from being 6-6 and no bowl in '02.

Saban did a darn fine job at LSU and earned every penny but if you think every move he makes is sheer brilliance, you're crazy.

HA! Come on Sugar, you're so flagship.

What does Sugar stand for in your name? I'm guessing it's for the bowl game and related to Sugar T.

Of course it does, and of course I'm a Razorback fan, but I don't go running around this, or any other, board acting like Arkansas is the best of the best or any of that other garbage, and I have NEVEr, nor will I EVER, referred to Arkansas as the flagship.

Claiming BP is better than both LM and NS is definitely "Flagshiping".

Boarding party of one. I'm sure SAO or wmr will welcome you aboard.

Are you from Stuttgart (SugarT)?

Good grief, try reading some of my posts on this board, that was totally sarcastic and making fun of some of my goofball compatriots.

I totally believe Petrino is as good a coach as either Saban or Miles, but obviously has not accomplished as much, yet; and so deserves to be placed SLIGHTLY below those two at this point.
