If State ends 19-11 in the SEC and wins 9 of their 10 SEC series I don't see any way possible that we don't get a National seed. Also throw in a couple wins in the SEC tourney which we usually do well in to add on to our resume.

They aren't going to give the SEC four national seeds. Let the race begin

Someone is going to get snubbed.

Show me teams with a better resume than State, Florida, A&M? Ill give you Miami Louisvilleand FSU but beyond those 5 I think the other schools including South Carolina who hasn't won ANY series of relevance this entire season and has padded their schedule on middle of the road teams.

State has SEC series wins @Vandy, @ Florida, @ LSU, and has won series at Home vs Ole Miss and Georgia

South Carolina's only decent series win was a Sweep at Ole Miss beyond that you have beat up on the bottom dwellers of the SEC. I dont see South Carolina getting a national seed if they drop series vs Florida, and A&M.

MSU has 9 wins vs RPI top 25
South Carolina has 5

South Carolina has more wins and more SEC wins but its easy to see for any baseball expert as it shows in the Polls that South Carolina is 1-3 in their only series vs teams with a pulse

Why are you so butt hurt? I didn't even say MSU wouldn't get it. Just that there aren't going to be more than 3, and there's probably 5 teams worthy right now.

We have plenty of opportunities to prove ourselves coming up while MSU cakewalks through the end of their schedule. Yawn.

kendall rogers and aaron fitt have been saying that all season, until now. now both are putting pressure on the committee to do so and theyre slamming every league but the SEC & ACC.

i hope the other leagues continue to tank if for no other reason than to see how big the committees balls are.

The PAC 12 doesn't have any team worthy of a National seed, I could see Oregon State get a regional but they are borderline.

TCU and Texas Tech both lost series over the weekend and their conference may only get 3 teams in the tourney total.

The Big 10 is terrible Michigan MIGHT get a host only if they win their conference and they may only get 2-3 bids

Conference USA has been solid USM, RICE, and Fla Atlantic

AAC meh
The west Coast conferences have been terrible
Big East is bad as well but Creighton might host

None of the above mentioned teams with the exception of TCU is a possible national host.

The SEC will get 4 national seeds, ACC will get 3. The rest of college baseball is a shite show. The last one will go to some team that doesn't deserve it outside the SEC or ACC because the committee wouldn't pick all 8 from the same 2 conferences.

UCSB has an RPI of 9
Coastal Carolina has an RPI of 11
ULL has an RPI of 12
Texas Tech is next non SEC/ACC team down at 15

UCSB, Coastal Carolina and ULL will be playing mostly crap rest of year so it will be tough to keep up those RPIs.

UCSB just got swept by Cal Poly.
Coastal Carolina HAS to make a statement against GT next weekend or they will be out.
ULL has to make a statement against South Alabama in a few weeks or they have no chance at one either.
TTU plays TCU in a few weeks, so there might be your 8th national seed.

Basically anywhere west of the rockies will not be a national seed. OSU is going to have to win out just to finish in the top 16 RPI. UCSB has to win out to get in to the top 8. Basically both team's resume's will fall short even grading on a curve that the west coast and north gets.

The SEC & ACC will likely get 3 national seeds each. In actuality they should each get four, but no way does the committee let that happen.

You're right ... you are absolutely correct, 110%.

We acquiesce to your view and apologize if we have offended you with our overzealous support of our baseball program.

SCAR does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with MSU, Florida or A&M ... but particularly Mississippi State.

Would you be able to see it in your heart to forgive us?

If we could only work our way into hosting a Regional ... we should be happy with that. Regardless of what happens over the course of the next thirty days or so ... MSU should definitely have a Top 8 seed sewed-up as of right now. And if Ray Tanner, through some unforeseen happenstance, is offered a Top 8 seed over MSU ... he should respectfully decline the offer and instead advise the committee that they need to call MSU and make things right.

Keep thinking that. How can they justify putting an Oregon State team with an RPI say in the 30's as a national seed or a UC Santa Barbara team with ZERO games vs top 25 teams and only 2 top 50 wins

The teams that are worthy of national seed consideration:

SEC
Florida
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Mississippi State

ACC
Louisville
Florida State
Miami
North Carolina State

Other National Seed Consideration
UC Santa Barbara
Coastal Carolina
Louisiana-Lafayette
Texas Tech
Rice

In Race for Regional Host
Ole Miss
Clemson (need to win some big series)
North Carolina
Vanderbilt
Southern Miss
TCU
Michigan

Here's the honest truth. The 4 SEC teams and the 4 ACC teams above are probably the most deserving of the national seed. But, I bet both only get three. If either get four, it will be the SEC if South Carolina wins the series from Florida this weekend and everyone else does as expected down the stretch.

The Pac 12 sucks - Oregon State is #50 in the RPI.

Michigan could play their way to a national seed, but that's a long shot. I do think they get a regional though.

Conference USA is the 3rd best conference. Rice could have gotten a look at a national seed, but they lost their series to USM. Right now, USM may have the advantage for a regional host out of that conference.

Santa Barbara just got swept by San Luis Obisqo. Yes, they have a top 10 RPI, but can they stay there?

The TCU/Texas Tech series winner is the most likely 8th national seed.

A down the stretch primer for the 8 SEC/ACC contenders - BOLD indicates series against other contenders, italics indicates other big series.
Florida - at USC, at Tenn, Vandy, at LSU.
South Carolina - Florida, at UK, A&M, at Bama
MSU - at Bama, Mizzou, at Auburn, Arkansas
A&M - at Arkansas, Vandy, at USC, Ole Miss

MSU has by far the easiest stretch, A&M and Florida have the toughest.

In the ACC...
Miami - Ga. Tech, Pitt, at FSU
Florida State - at Clemson, at Duke, Miami
Lousiville - at UNC, NCSU, at Wake
NCSU - Duke, at Clemson, at Louisville, UNC

NCSU is the most likely to drop out of national seed contention, with two really tough road series left.

Currently is 9-12 in the ACC and if the season ended today they wouldn't even make the ACC tourney. Kendall Rogers says that they could ultimately be a bubble team to even make the NCAA tourney

But wait ... both A&M have to come to SCAR and SCAR still has to go to Kentucky and Bama.

How is that not one of the toughest?

The SEC is so good this year, it deserves six host sites. I can see the league getting at least three national seeds, and four wouldn't be out of line. I wouldn't have a problem with State, Florida, A & M and South Carolina getting national seeds, and two more regional hosts coming from Ole Miss, LSU and Vandy. But if it's just three NS's and three RS's, I'm okay with that, too. Everyone has to take care of business anyway.
