No surprise we dropped out. Been struggling the last two weeks. Hopefully we can use Auburn as a tuneup this weekend. After them our remaining series are South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Mizzou.

I know State has won series against four top 11 teams (three on the road), but they just don't feel like an elite team. Maybe its the way Aggy smacked them around that has me off.

Hopefully they can get a national seed and make it to Omaha, though. The SEC is ridiculous, once again. Seven teams in the running to legitimately host. Seven. That's nearly half the hosts.

If somehow State can get off the Sunday slide, they going be hard to beat.

After playing in Fayetteville, A&M finishes the year with #11, #6, and #9. Brutal.

Do you think you'll have an RPI problem when trying to earn a national seed? According to Boyd's World you'll need to win out to be in the top 8 RPI. You only have four remaining games vs the top 50. Only 1 if Alabama slips up.

No, hopefully the committee isn't retarded and can see we beat LSU, Vandy, Florida (all on the road) & OM. That is 4 of the top 11/13 (depending on the poll). And if we keep winning, we will stay in the top 4 rankings. Surely they aren't going to weigh the RPI so much and knock us out of a national seed.

And what does that have to do with this year's rankings?

State has objectively the best resume in the nation. Cruise control and we'll have a national seed.

But when SC, UF, and A&M will likely boast similar records and may have the edge in RPI. As unfair as it is, no way the SEC gets 1/2 of the national seeds. As a team who got chipped from a national seed last year, the committee moves the goalposts on how they decide.

You don't have to be in the top 8 of the RPI to get a national seed. Right now MSU is 13th. There are five teams in front of them RPI wise that have no shot at a national seed unless they catch fire. Clemson is 9-12 in the ACC, for example. UCSB is 5-4 in the Big West.

I'd put State at the No. 8 national seed right now. But it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see Florida sweep USC

I hope not, we have to win 8 out of our last 12 conference games to make a regional.
