The biggest problem from this hurricane outside of the coast in South Carolina is the lowcountry may flood again in some areas because they haven't fully recovered from the flood in October last year.

Bit OT though.

Look, the situation is messed up, but don't tell me that the board didn't melt down with "Oh my God, do y'all not understand hurricanes?!?!"

Everybody saw it, man. It was pretty epic.

Will be hilarious when it turns out to be a nice day in Gainesville on Saturday

Nah, we've been telling you that for two days now. Not even a chuckle.

Let's hope this means the minimal possible suffering for Floridians and others in its path.

I understand why it was cancelled because the police/security aspect has to take care of storm damage and protection but I don't understand why there isn't more flexibility in situations like this. Every single forecast had Florida receiving a glancing blog from this hurricane. Granted, it was going to be a significant blow but not an earth shattering blow. They could have held the LSU team in somewhere like Live Oak or Lake City, FL and had them ready to come in for say a Sunday game. This storm will be well out of the way from Gainesville on Sunday with almost no damage of any significance at all to the Gainesville area. Play the game Sunday and everything is cool. Hell, Auburn played LSU in 2004 just a couple of days after Hurricane Ivan raked the s### out of Central Alabama with hurricane force wind gusts. No reason this weekend's LSU/Florida game couldn't be moved to Sunday.

Yeah, I know what was said. I finally engage on it today. It would probably still be a bad idea to play at 12noon in Gainesville if you want fans there and all that. THAT is what I was talking about.

But, the game needs to be played. Play it on Sunday afternoon with no crowd in Gainesville if you have to. But, play the game. That is my point now.

If you wanted fans to come, it should have been moved Tue or Wed. Now, it is cancelled. If this continues to weaken, the game could be played. Do it. Sunday is 3 days from now.

It should be played, but they made the call that people were calling for. There should have been foresight, and hindsight is no good. The question now is how to get it done.

If a certain opponent hadn't pushed for an extra home game, UF could have continued on their wait and see approach and played the game.

Here's what should have happened: We are planning on playing this game as scheduled until it becomes impossible to do so. LSU should have been planning to be in Florida as they usually would. They could have easily flown in to Tallahassee and been on standby. The whole thing is a shite show.

I think the original plan was to wait and see what type of impact this will have. People starting freaking out when the track shifted west and were pressing for a decision.

yep everybody flipped out and pressured people into making a premature decision about moving the game and then you had a senator expressing his concern to the governor or whatever that shite was and politics got involved and they had to axe the game.

So now that the track has shifted, should the decision be reversed? Honest Answer
