You do realize Texas a&m was originally created to be a branch of the University of Texas at Austin, right? That's according to their own history. They were never meant to be the flagship, and the past 100+ years has done nothing but prove exactly that
You are mistaken. TAMC was formed by the legislature in 1871 as a stand-alone institution. Five years later, the Legislature changed its mind (for the first time) and the state Constitution was amended to add the following language:
quote:

The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, established by an Act of the Legislature passed April 17th, 1871, located in the county of Brazos, is hereby made, and constituted a Branch of the University of Texas, for instruction in Agriculture, the Mechanic Arts, and the Natural Sciences connected therewith. And the Legislature shall at its next session, make an appropriation, not to exceed forty thousand dollars, for the construction and completion of the buildings and improvements, and for providing the furniture necessary to put said College in immediate and successful operation.
When the Legislature finally got around to establishing t.u. in 1883, they changed their collective mind AGAIN and elected NOT to put the two institutions into the same system, so they established a Board of Regents for t.u. independent of the TAMC Board of Regents which was already in existence.

A legislative body that was unable to maintain its focus from one Session to the next? Imagine that.

I think OU actually came up with that shirt. I remember seeing it at Fair Park for the Shootout in the early '90s and thinking it was funny.

I didn't see it associated with Aggies until years later.

Never seen anyone wearing it on campus or around town when I've been there. So what if they have a shirt with Bible verses on it. I know most UTA folks are far left liberals. Are you also against the Bible and Christianity?

UTA folks

UTA is the University of Texas at Arlington. Always has been. Going to have to use something different. Google "UTA" and see what you get.

The Aggie talks about “ tradition” as though they are one of historical significance in college football. Their standing is really just the annual clubbing everyone watched on Thanksgiving vs the horns. Otherwise casual football fans like myself never paid them any mind. I guess all the weird stuff is “ tradition “…weird tradition but tradition never the less.

From what I've heard, UTA turned in their fellow SWC members to NCAA regularly in the 80s and 90s.

Oh, you heard that? From known cheater Jackie Sherrill? Wow, it must be true then! Pretty amazing how he could know that Texas paid 80 people to spy on A&M but also not know how to cheat properly without getting caught.

A&M has a lot of traditions, probably more than most schools. Some of them center around football, most of them don't. That is one thing that a lot of people really like about A&M. Most Aggies really don't give a shite what non-Aggies think about our traditions. It is not a school for everyone, but apparently it is favorable to a lot of people. It is the largest university in the US and probably one of the largest campuses at over 5200 acres.

Lol tell me you've never been to a&m without telling me. These are littered throughout their fanbase

Huh? They're the ones that messed up the verse, not us.

Maybe if they didn't need shirts due to obsession this wouldn't be an issue?

Imagine flexing that your school has lower academic and admission standards than others

It's been my experience in life that cheaters are often more honest than tattle tell little bitches.

Must not be much of an obsession if I've never seen anyone wearing one.

He may have been a known cheater but obviously was not a good one.

Won no Natty's at TAMU or State.

If you are gonna cheat be a sneaky SOB like Coach K at Duke. Now that guy was pro level.

Usually the tattler is the worse offender, how do they have nothing to show during that time? I thought Utx was supposed to be a "blue blood" like Alabama or Oklahoma who win lots more Natty's

Holy ironic post.

Lack of self-awareness may be the biggest aggie tradition of all time

That's weird, your own school's students think the opposite.

Lol thanks for proving my point (again):

And now here you are, still cowering away from it as you revert to the same "tears" comeback once again. As always, it's proof you're stumped to the point of no response

Uh... how's that so? I posted articles you're still too petrified to refute, and then you're saying the same thing over and over again

Jesus, I had no idea it would be this easy. I mean, I knew y'all have always been our bitch, but y'all just keep coming back for more humiliation.

Still waiting for your response, reject (which I know you're too pussy to give one)

Prove me right and avoid it again

I know, after all these years I think I starting to get trolling. I was born without the ability to detect sarcasm so it has left me at a bit of a disadvantage.

Has been entertaining to watch them but it does get old

I must say the best (real quality and brains) was Kansas State. Was like a thread on one of their site when they played the Hogs. It was a work of art.
