Shaq certainly earned his statue as a representative of LSU.

I think the teams while he was there are harshly criticized for not doing more, too. He only played with Jackson and Roberts for one season, when Shaq himself admitted he didn't think he was that good and they did win SEC regular season the next year. They also ran into some good teams in the 2nd round of the tournament.

I agree there are a lot of "what ifs" surrounding his LSU teams, but that's not on Shaq and he wasn't a bust.

Definitely Shaq

He's the 6th wealthiest athlete in the world ($350M) and has been very generous to LSU over the years.

Need to know who LSU lost to in the NCAA tourney Shaqs 2nd and 3rd year.

Shaq's teams couldn't get past the 2nd round, but 2 out of 3 losses were to very good teams.

Georgia Tech - made in to final four
UConn - made it to the sweet 16
Indiana - made it to the final four

Georgia Tech beat LSU one of the years. Not sure about the other.

LSU played those loaded UNLV and Duke teams though

Correct. Very exciting game.

Also beat Loyola Marymount as well, a potent, high scoring machine.

Litterial Green might be one of the most underrated players in SEC history.

Team based i mean
You are asking if an individual's career is a bust, because of team accomplishments.

Well, I dunno. . .was the pro career of Dominique Wilkins a bust?
Barry Sanders?
Tony Gonzales?
Reggie Miller?
Dan Marino?
Charles Barkley?
Elgin fricking Baylor?
Randy Moss?
Bruce Smith?
Brian Urlacher?

i didn't mean specifically his personal career but more his time at LSU. based on his talent and surrounding talent did they underachieve? something lsu is accustomed to doing in every sport. see i didn't want to troll but then you had to be a douche

The "underachieve" rhetoric is impuissant.

We have 46 NC's among 9 sports and are consistently in the hunt among most.

I want more but truthfully can't complain

How they didn't get to at least a sweet sixteen is ridiculous. They had one of the most dominate big men if not the most dominate to play the game.

Hell Larry Bird took Indiana State to the championship; the least LSU could have done is get him to the Sweet Sixteen/Elite Eight.

He wasn't even the best center in the SEC at that time.

Oliver Miller made him his bitch every time they played which is why Shaq never beat Arkansas.

Meanwhile, instead of losing the first weekend of the tourney, that squad led by Miller, Day, and Mayberry were going to final fours and shite.

You definitely have to say those LSU teams underachieved. Evidently he was no leader.
