You really don't see any correlation between us beating those ranked teams and their subsequent demise? Seriously? Dude, you need to take your aub-shades off and face the facts.

That's Sabanese for: "we had a shitty practice today so I'm gonna take it out on the first moron that asks a stupid question."

And sometimes to take the heat off the team I think. Love his press conferences.

The only time it means anything … the only reason why we have it is for folks like you to talk about it and write about it. It doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t mean anything. “So until the end of the season I don’t have anything to say about that, I really don’t, because it doesn’t mean anything other than your team has done well enough to have a chance to create an opportunity for itself if they can finish the season the right way. That’s what it means.” .....ain't nobody like'em!

I 2nd the !

Bama fans are fortunate to have a coach that doesn't settle.

I don't believe any of these rants he goes on. I think he just says what he wants his team to hear and is very cautious to ever let his team think they are worth a shite.

rankings don't matter as long as you're in the relevant conversation...if you're not, he'd be whining about a tough schedule, mistakes that led to the OM loss, etc, etc, etc

Glad to bring you happiness, but I wasn't trying to sound "butthurt" as you would say. I didn't write that as an Auburn alumni. I wrote it as a college football fan. I would've used any team that is in the same position Bama is in. Bama happens to be in that situation at this time.

I don't live in SEC country and we actually discuss and watch football outside the SEC. I work with alumni from all over the country.

There's a difference if those teams only loss was to Bama. You think these teams just give up their season and say "ahhh frick it" after a loss to Bama?

Wisconsin's only other loss was to Iowa. Undefeated Iowa isn't in the top 4.

Dan,pay attention.
If a team is ranked a certain # and lose a game they usually go down in rank.
The winning team did in fact beat that team where it was ranked.
If Auburin beats the #1 team the third game of the season and that team ends the season ranked #22 you would have beaten # 1 team.
While ranking is perception it is still ranking. And a win over a team is a win over where that team is ranked at the time.

Because an undefeated Houston might get completely fricked? Is that fair? Ranking probably means something to Houston. Sitting at at #24 undefeated.

Ranking mean something. I kinda agree and disagree with him.

Iowa, Oklahoma St may disagree too right now. Hopefully it works itself out by the end of the year.

Who is Alabama's "signature win"? Every ranked team they beat have not turned out to be that good.

Wisconsin - ranked #20 when they played, will probably finish outside the top25

Ole Miss - ranked #15 when they played, no longer in top25

Georgia - ranked #8 when they played, LOL

TAMU - ranked #9 when they played, LOL

LSU - ranked #2, don't care what you guys say, LSU never deserved a #2 ranking, they are not a #2 team other than at the RB position.

It's easy to argue that Bama is like all the other teams in the top10-15. Haven't played a strong schedule and has even suffered a loss.

That schedule is still considered the toughest in the nation. As for Houston, well if they want to get considered for the PO they need to schedule some tougher teams.

You want to argue preseason rankings?

No, Auburn would've beating a decent top25 team. Ranking week 3 would not have been accurate in my opinion.

Someone's a little chapped in the arse. Who should have been ahead of us at that point? Making comments like this in hindsight after a loss is pretty stupid.

This

It's all a mind game with him ~ he "hopes" his tirades with seep into his players skulls and they will stay focused on the task at hand and the next opponent.

Our players are fricking brain washed.

Why would I be chapped in the arse? I'm just trying to have a fun discussion. Who should've been ahead of you?

maybe based on some opinion... These teams have seemed to be more complete teams than LSU all year.
Ohio State
Michigan State
Iowa

Florida is your only real good win. And it was a good win. I'm just saying your ranking is arguable. Not saying it was wrong or right.

Absolutely. I am a bit surprised he didn't go further and start to name individual loses when we were ranked #1.
