I'm not going to argue, it's pointless when you've definitely got your mind made up. And no, I've never been arrested or had any run-ins with the law except speeding tickets.

Well I have. Got arrested for reckless driving and 'disorderly conduct' (smarted off to an officer after he kept being an arse) in a piss ant town known for scamming. Took FOREVER to work it's way through the court system because I contested it all.

Which reminds me, that con-town set my bail at 40k for reckless fricking driving (I was going 60 at most in 45 mph zone that lasted through a fricking stop light and was on a fricking 4 lane). In contrast, Williams' bond was the same for a freaking felony.

The justice system is slow as frick and is there to extract $$$ from you.

Main thing with this taking forever was the grand jury was so backed up with other cases. They recessed like 4 times before hearing it, just means there were a lot of other cases ahead of it.

If you know KPD, they definitely won't push for a resolution because it involves football.

Other college towns... Different story.

Remember Nilo Silvan?

Care to lay out the evidence they had against him when he got indicted? OOPS! That's right, there was none. She made up the whole rape story.

I have had run ins with the law. You know how a grand jury works? The DA walks in and says, "this is what happened." Guess who is there to dispute it. Take a guess.

Duke Lacrosse...remember that? They were indicted by a grand jury.

Yes, that is exactly how the legal system works.

We will see how it plays out from here. No need to get your panties in a wad.

Yep. Also, new DA who didn't want a FSU on her hands if she screwed it up or pissed off fans (though their were surprisingly only a handful) if she chose to present. The DA only presented the case like yesterday even though we all know there was a backlog it wasn't sent yet. Overall, Tennessee doesn't use Grand Juries a lot and IIRC, Knoxville serves for more than one county which adds to it.

That said, KPD doesn't care when you go to trial if ever - the trial isn't really their job. And they give no fricks on that count.

I'm just telling you how it works.

Arrested and/or indicted has NOTHING to do with being guilty.

You seem to be the one with the panties bunched up.

Take it from me - do not speed in a one stop light town in the middle of nowhere, especially if all they have is one officer. They will bleed out of towners dry.

Yep, you're right. I am so mad right now.

ETA: I never said anything about an indictment meaning guilt. I only disputed the timing of the indictment.

..and if you have a couple grand in cash on you...obviously you got it illegally and we're confiscating it.

No, you said, and I quote,

You disputed nothing about timing. I had stated this was just a DA sling shite at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Just read the (presentment) indictment and it reveals nothing in terms of how/who etc. Basically no different than what has been reported.

Honestly, if KPD had a shred of hard evidence they would have arrested and charged them long ago.

Rape kit, phones confiscated, and DNA swabs and never an arrest?

A case like this goes to a GJ because it's high profile. The DA is new and doesn't want either side made at her -- it's delicate and more and more GJ's are used to wash a DAs hands of a difficult case.

The new DA had plans to send it to the GJ all along, imo and the backlog plus being careful took time.

We booted an RB who was witnessed and stopped from hitting his girl by another player. She declined to press charges yet in less than 48hrs he was kicked off the team on the first offense. Need I bring up DGB?

We indef. suspended both AJ and Williams and they had nothing to do with the team after that despite far less cut and dried evidence. We did so at great cost to our team.

So kindly frick off. UT as well as Vandy have handled these cases very well. Sorry you can't say the same for your recent tribulations - hopefully that changes for you. And FWIW, everyone here knows I rarely do this but even Prof has a limit. I despise lies and abusing women in any form from anyone and my posting history bears that out.
