Never actually thought of it that way before ... but yeah, there are actually three good Vols here.

Shall we name them?

Nevermind.

I'm not completely sure in terms of the forcible aspect but with the aggravated charge it doesn't matter (both would face the same charge and punishment). AJ was involved consensually by many accounts with the girl involved and supposedly facilitated rape (Williams was likely the one who did the actual deed *IF* the rumors/leaks are true).

There is one wrinkle to this case. There was another girl who was there to be Williams' hookup. When the other girl called the cops, she basically said she wanted no part of it and didn't stand by her friend/the accuser and went back to Florida. I don't know if she was afraid, just wanted to move on, or what.

Needless to say it's a complex case.

[The presentment charges each player with two counts of aggravated rape, "aided and abetted by" the other.]

Does this mean they aided and abetted each other in the aggravated rape?

I haven't seen the indictment yet but one of the qualifiers for aggravated rape is the following subsection:

quote:

(3) The defendant is aided or abetted by one (1) or more other persons; and

The aiding and abetting part is likely aimed at AJ given what we've heard but I'm sure that will come out at trial. What it means in this case is that if AJ didn't participate BUT is somehow proven to have aided/abetted then he's guilty of aggravated rape regardless. Given AJ's prior relationship with this girl, I suspect he is accused of allowing Williams to rape her. That's likely the state's theory.

**KEEP IN MIND** How it might've happened is an educated guess based upon the few leaks there have been and rumor. I could be wrong on the hows.

I don't think anybody can disagree with that. I don't care what color someone puts on when fall Saturdays roll around.

Kinda fitting that he wore orange every Saturday.

Hardly appropriate but FYI: Knox Co. has inmates wear Crimson. TDOC uses light blue. GITMO uses Florida orange which has much more red in it. Federal Prisons use to use light denim and button down shirts which a lot of state prisons now use. The feds now tend to use khakis. Other places use different unis as well.

Besides, prison orange doesn't match our orange.

If the police thought they had a case, they would have been arrested long ago. This is just a district attorney flinging shite at the wall and hoping some sticks.

Its not even the flaming. AJ has no eligibility left. He couldn't play even if he wasn't suspended.

Not only that he has been suspended for the critical stretch of our season. For example, he might've made a difference (likely would have) in the Mizzou game. And Williams was a starter for most of the season who would've saw serious time despite coaches wanting to get E. Moseley PT due to his potential. Their losses hurt us on the field. AJ was the leader of out D and responsible for getting everyone lined up and it showed when he wasn't there.

It hurt the team to lose them but I'm proud we did what we did.
