I don't get why LSU and UF have to play each other, or why that is any one else's fault. Can't they both just pick new perm opponents?

Or better yet. Let the teams that want to be permanent opponents (UGA/AU and Tennessee/Alabama) play every year and let everybody else rotate. But I'm sure Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Vandy would be against that. So that is unlikely to happen too.

The LSU vs Bama game relative to the LSU vs UF game.

I love how these threads always end up being about LSU. #LSUobsessed.

A 9 game SEC schedule will be brutal. This will make it tough to schedule tougher opponents OOC.

Meh. I don't think they should change from permanent rivalries, but I think the best way to do it would be putting Bama and Auburn in the East. Another thing I don't want because those are 2 of the best games as an LSU fan.

I vote for a bridge schedule every year until eternity so Bama can play Kentucky and Vandy every year.

100% agree. I don't think any one should be forced to play teams they don't want to, but frick other teams trying to tell is we can't play our rival anymore. 9 game conference schedule seems to be the easiest solution.

I do want to say that the 9 game rotation is favorable to me because I want to see the other teams sooner who we have yet to play.

I also want to point out that with the new playoff structure the SEC shouldn't be too quick to go to this schedule until it is known that the lack of a 9 game schedule is detrimental to getting into the playoff.

Pragmatism should reign.

And we do it well. But this is a legitimate gripe.

We'd need Oklahoma and Texas in the west to really balance things out then.

I think his idea of balance would be to swap UA/AU in the West with UK/Vandy in the East.

2 weak big 12 teams? Nah we're good.

Then I'm sure Tennessee would start bitching about not having its annual game with Vandy.

But there is no competitive balance in that scenario. Divisions would be too unbalanced. But a 16 team league could balance that out.

Good. I always look forward to the LSU - Florida game.

Agreed, one of my favorite games of the year. Would hate to not be playing them every year. And also look forward to playing the other teams from the East more often with the extra game.

I also saw someone post that it is great news for season ticket holders and can't agree more! Make it happen SEC!

True. But I think some of the other big OOC games may be fewer with a 9 game schedule. There will likely be more home game rent a wins.

No it's not. It's a tired argument that makes your AD look like a bitch. Florida is not always good. They sucked last year and except for the 2006-2009 seasons they have been an average program ever since Spurrier left.
