This thread has reinforced two things for me:
1. There are still some retarded Florida fans, despite the recent poor records that have lead most of the band-wagoners to jump off.
2. LSU fans have the least class of any fan base on this site. And believe me, that is a real achievement. Bravo.

So did we ever settle who won the 6th place tie breaker?

I'm going to say it's a draw?
I'm tired of talking about it honestly.

This. The whole DBU thing between UF and LSU fans needs to die out.

College defenses aren't designed to be flexible enough to move one man all over the field - moving one defender to match the one guy on offense before every play can cause absolute chaos. That's why Florida attempted zone against Amari and I'd remind folks that prior to that game Cooper was a household name only to Bama fans. College teams typically only have one good corner (if they're lucky) paired with a decent other guy but rarely does anyone have 2 true shutdown corners. That aspect of college very much advantages the passing game, especially WRs.
Cooper was dynamic enough to be moved around and was used to wear UF's D the hell out by stretching the field and forcing VH3 to run sideline to sideline as much as possible. Often Cooper was moved at the very last second and again college defenses aren't that flexible and they lack the athleticism of pro defenses.
Now if you want to shutdown a guy like Cooper in college put BOTH VH3 and Cam Sutton on the same team and let them worry about their side of the field instead of the entire field. Ironically, having both on the field would allow either one of them to shut him down by himself. However, with Coop being used in the middle of the field a lot you've got to have some decent safeties to go with your corners.
The one knock I have against VH3 is that he's not as good in run support but that's a minor issue.
All of this. Excellent post.
(Though Cooper was a household name to most of the SEC after his freshman campaign, and rightly so.)
