Yes. He should be for catering to the narcissist and not doing a damn thing to discipline him and get him off that path.

one of them wasn't even a current player, and honestly don't recall much about the details of that situation. I feel like that got dropped completely very quickly, as I don't think names ever came out (I could be wrong and if you have the article I would like to see it)

He suspended the star running back for 3 games for a video where he 'may' have touched a female. There was no evidence that he did. He suspended 5 players for the opener at VT in 2015 for stuff. it isn't like he completely is glossing over stuff.

There's no doubt Urban has learned from the experience. He does not have the same troubles at Ohio State because he's actually disciplining a little bit there.

Meanwhile, when he was at Florida, he let his players run amok with no repercussions.

I didn't say he would stop winning. I said life would catch up to him....Again.
You guys are so beholden to him that he finally beat an SEC team in bowl game that mattered. And to top ot all off it was Bama. But Clemson is doing the work now. Got Uncle Woody fired and you guys have nothing for Clemson now.
My deal is his outside life that catches up to him and. No one in their right mind would question his coaching ability. But a meltdown from a couple of losses to the right team. LIke Clemson, Again. BTW how is Shelley doing? I am sure you get the drift.

I dislike you type of people so much, frigging hypocrites. That "boy" can sure fast, catch and block. Like these coaches can tell these players how to act. Most don't care about off field issues as long your team wins with those type of players. Give me a break with this hyperbole thread. You sound like a Democrat trying to put blame on others for ones mistakes.

Um.... I literally don't do that. This is the only case that I want a little blame put on someone.

Don't bring politics into this. It has nothing to do with that.

Let's hold Urban liable. Maybe not in the legal sense, but definitely in the moral and ethical sense. I hope he feels shamed by all of Hernandez's actions.

Let's just kill everyone associated with the UF program just to be on the safe side.

They'll be discussing Aaron Hernandez on Paul's show here soon. I wonder if someone will mention that Urban should be liable as well. Guess we will see what they think.

Probably shouldn't used democrats, but I don't understand why people are quick to blame a Coach for his actions . Everyone knew about Hernandez, but the PATS drafted him and gave him a 2nd Contact worth 40 million. I'm not defending Meyer or Saban, but I think they have probably help more young men be better people than the ones who turned out like Hernandez.

I'm not beholden to him at all, but he isn't reacting to things in even close to the same way at OSU as he did at UF. He was going off on reporters all the time at UF, and throwing tantrums that were reported on. None of that has been reported on in his time at OSU. Perhaps it is going on and OSU is doing a better job of not letting it leak out, which seems difficult since everything bad gets out these days with social media.

Here is the difference in him at OSU. In the 2016 class, there was an EXTREMELY talented H-back who wanted to play at OSU. Sam Bruce. Meyer didn't take the kid because of off the field stuff. The UF Meyer may have taken the kid because he is talented. One year later, he is booted off of Miami's football program and is a JUCO. The way things are being run is completely different.

I am probably more shocked than any of you are. I figured he would be exactly like he was at UF, and I was ready for the implosion. Just not sure it's going to happen. Bookmark this for sure if I'm wrong

Urbz is a hypocritical SOB. Would only recruit the top 1% of the top 1% of kids with character.

But, all of Hernandez' actions are on Hernandez.

Urban Meyer was greatly impacted by one of his first Gator recruits Avery Atkins. He had to kick him off the team and the kids life spiraled out of control. Eventually ended up killing himself in 2007. It had a major impact on Meyer's approach to discipline afterward.

This. Honestly, it kind of speaks well of Meyer that he changed after Atkins.

Hey thanks for the interaction. I actually have alot of friends and business from the Buckeye State. Farm stuff. I absolutely love the Ohio State Fair and the Germantown in Columbus. Some restaurant that brews their own beer and has a buffet, is AWESOME>. Name escapes me.
But maybe Urbie has changed a bit. But I am sure that the university is more tight lipped. Shite happens you never hear about, but anyway enjoyed the convo!

Urban Meyer catered to Aaron Hernandez in every way. He was buddies with him. He was no father figure. He wasn't the only one that Urban catered to, but Urban in no way shape or form tried to make Aaron a better person. God only knows how much stuff Urban covered up that Hernandez was involved in while he was at Florida.

Whatever Hernandez was he was that before Urban got him. If he was spoiled or a thug or whatever he was, that's his parents responsibility not a coach who has him for three years.
