Wouldn't it make more sense to keep your higher paying job these last few years before retirement?
Head coaching is a hell of a lot of stress. You think maybe he figured being drilled by the NCAA would be too much can stress for him?

Turning down a 1/3 of your pay check for a higher stressed job doesn't make much sense to me..

Pank, what exactly are you doing?

Him turning down that money for another job isn't playing a "what-if".

Trying to enter a civil form of discussion about college football.
Unfortunately some people are trying to deflect and talk about ole miss.

Trying to emulate MButterfly. Only pank is clearly biased whereas MButterfly is neutral.

I never said that as fact. I proposed a fairly logical question based on the facts at hand mixed with recent developments.
People didn't believe that the reasoning for wenzel's no longer working at ole miss had nothing to do with NCAA investigations.....but that didn't exactly stop anyone.
At least I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and not stating things as if I knew them to be factual.
If anything....maybe you guys could learn from me on how to message board.

They've had a lot of coaches take lateral moves over the years.
Diaz to Miami
Balis to uconn
Etc.

Yeah but my what if actually makes sense and could possibly have legs to it.
I guess we'll just have to see when the NCAA comes knocking. They've already investigated msu players recently....

Let's see, ole miss has been under NCAA scrutiny for recruiting violations.
Yeah, so no one should assume anything there with him being the assistant recruiting coordinator.

He is close to 30 years in PERS. 60% of $100,000 is $60k for life. 60% of $265,000 is $160k for life. Talking about legs???

Might have even more legs to it...
Hughes recruited both Simmons and Leo Lewis....two msu signees whose recruiting was questionably moral at best.
Also responsible for Robert Johnson....if you remember, gene Swindol was his family's "personal advisor".
He's got some really shady history with msu.
