do you not see the irony here? Probably not.

Yes, but schools weigh the truth vs what fans will make up, and figure what will cause the least damage. They also know that if they do not feed their own dumbass supporters the truth, they will ease their own fears thu group supported stories. Sounds like the OP.

I'd be pissed if I were Davis. Saban didn't even hold a team vote. What a jerk.

trying to use a Bama site as a source is sad.

Just playing devil's advocate, but don't you think an Alabama site might know more about it than, say, an Auburn fan on a message board?

Bama would have came out and made it clear they fired him for secondary violations

Yeah because Saban always explains to the media the reasons behind everything he does.

They wouldn't let it sit out with all the stuff going on with OM and make themselves look like they done something major too.

Here's a thought. Maybe, as the head man, CNS doesn't appreciate being lied to. And maybe this wasn't Bo Davis' first offense with lying to CNS. Point being is that we don't know what led Saban to make his decision to fire Davis.

frick you.

Your coach and your program have been cheating for years. Without a doubt the dirtiest program in the history of college football.

But you lay claim that CNS is great?

The best explanation I've seen is a recruit was contacted in a dead period. Saban heard about it. The coach was asked and was not truthful with his boss.
If there is anyone on tRant that thinks an employee can get caught lying to Nick and stay employed is crazy. He may have been OK if he had come clean. Probably could have worked thru it. But a lie will not work.
L5U and the barbers are praying for messy sanctions. May happen, but I would bet on a clean bill of health when it's all said and done..
But what do I know, I thought Albert Means was no big deal.

I can think of 21 reasons why you are mad at Alabama, but I give 0 fricks.

That's bullshite Alabama cheated and Davis is the scape goat bottom line. They immediately fired him to try to lessen the penalties for the recruiting violation

That would have been the originally released story if true. No damage control needed.

Bama self reported the textbook violations and got about 10,000 years of win forfeits as a result.
