Saban could have been successful had he stuck with Miami

I dislike him more for what he did to my Dolphins than going to UA.

That does not exist in College Basketball...or Football.

Listening to Parrish right now

- Shaka knew Billy was heading to the NBA
- Foley definitely wasn't caught off guard
- Go after Gregg Marshall or Archie Miller
- He doesn't think they go after Marshall; make Miller say no
- Job was elevated by Billy, not an A level job. Behind Kentucky, might consider Arkansas a better job as well. Might be on the same level as schools like UT and LSU.
- Billy recognized that unless it was a local kid or already had an in with a kid that he couldn't go compete with guys like Self, Cal, K, etc on the recruiting trail.

I don't follow college basketball. I do know though that Billy is a good coach and won a title at Florida.

Is this a RIP to Florida basketball or are they a school that can replace someone with a named coach?

I'm thinking Florida now becomes similar to Texas under Barnes. Will still have decent success but ultimately underwhelming results based on resources. Will probably end up playing second fiddle to Kentucky most years like Texas and Kansas.

Anthony Grant will be the next Florida head coach and he will take the gators to the final four against Mark Gottfried and NC State. Book it.

While that would bring a fairly decent melt here, it's not happening.

At this point, a tiny part of me wants us to hire Pelphrey just to see the Arkansas melt when he succeeds.

Which would cause a bigger melt? Grant or Pel taking UF to the Final 4.

That would be a historic melt for sure.

I'm not ready to risk that though. Pel can go home to UK really. I'd be fine with that.

Pel would cause the Arkbillies to spit tobacco all over each other.

Laugh if you want but he's apparently pretty highly thought of in the AAU ranks and could end up being a helluva coach.
