What was his B1G record against quality teams?

About .500

You don't have to go undefeated against top teams every year to be considered a good coach. People around here slob on Spurrier's knob like they get paid to, but he has trouble beating Georgia every year.

Unbiased opinion: There are four teams in the SEC West that will recruit better than Arkansas on a regular basis: Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Texas AM, which makes winning the West under Bret impossible. Realistically, Arkansas has an 8 win ceiling for the foreseeable future

Winning 7-9 annually with a chance at double digit wins every 3-4 years.

I've always thought Bert was a bad fit for the SEC.

Bert emphasizes defense and a power run game, which is pretty much the same thing that every SEC national champion has done.

Yeah, y'all took the guy who lost to us by 20 points over the guy who took a 3-9 team to the BCSCG game.

I'm not convinced he can recruit that well enough to beat the teams that do it better with better players. Bobby P had the right idea for Arky, get some small fast under the radar wideouts with a pretty good QB and spread these superior talent teams the frick out. It was the perfect fit for what Arky is able to recruit.

He's also 4-5 against Florida since he's been at South Carolina. Only 5-4 versus Tennessee. Starting to see a pattern here?

I don't have a clue.
Unlike many on the SECr, I am unable to predict the future.
Four years from now, Arkansas could win a national title.
Four years from now, Arkansas may have decided to replace all sports with academic coursework.
I have no personal vendetta against their program.
Here's hoping better days are ahead.

gus' failures or successes have no bearing on whether i want him as a coach for my school. i get you not being able to comprehend such a thing tho.
