He's in a real conference now, 0-8 in the SECw is the only stat we have to go by.

The issue will be can they find and develop the athletes necessary to compete on defense?
This is the biggest question mark.

They were dead last in the SEC last year in scoring defense vs conference (37.9 ppg). MSU & UF (7 came off a pick six) were the only SEC team that scored less than 30 points on them.

A&M is below the Hogs so no reason to discuss them.

Last I checked A&M is undefeated against the razorfricks in SEC play

No it isn't, if that were the case then Sporting News wouldn't have ranked him ahead of Sumlin.

You left out possibly the biggest: Auburn.

I think they'll be a solid 8-9 win team. I like Bielema a lot.

Sporting news considers what he did in the Big 10 to be relevant. I do not.

ETA: Just like I wouldnt be trying to swing a 1 inch dick around if Sumlin got to a BCS game at UH. Who cares how you perform in the minor league, when you've had a season in the majors.

Honestly, who knows? IMO they could be competing for titles like 2011 with other juggernauts or near the bottom.

- grinding it out behind an awesome offense line
- struggling with running & passing game outside the hashes
- squashing the passing game between the hashes
- difficulty stopping the better run teams at second level (LB's)
- much much better S/Teams

I'm thinking very similar to the Nutt/DMac years. Which is good enough for anywhere between 2-3rd consistently in the W, with shots at the W title.

If they are happy with roughly 6 to 7 wins a year Bert will still be there, if not they will be looking for a new coach. I've always thought Bert was a bad fit for the SEC.

Honestly I do not think Bert is the answer. They will be in the 1st year of a new coach in 4 years.
