Looking at who was ranked at the end of the year gives a more accurate representation of strength of schedule.

Now compare number of bowl games now vs 30-40 yrs.

This entire tangent is pointless…LSU 2019 schedule vs UGA wasn’t the topic.
But… according to the final college football playoff rankings, the Bulldogs faced a total of seven top 25 teams. Against those opponents, they averaged 46.6 points per game, allowed an average of 17.1 points per game, and their average margin of victory against ranked opponents was a whopping 29.4.
To compare, during LSU's incredible national title run in 2019, and what many consider to be one of the greatest teams in college football history, they didn't put up the numbers that Georgia did. Against six top-25 opponents, the Tigers averaged 42.2 points on offense, allowed an average of 25.3 points on defense, and their average margin of victory finished at 15.1.

Just my opinion, 2021 and 2022 were weak years in college football. 2020 was weak too due to COVID but it had the potential to be like the last truly great season: 2019.

What made them weak?

Again, I've not done the legwork to prove my gut feeling but these are few of the reasons I can quickly express:
1) Fewer elite quarterbacks on elite teams compared to 2015-2020.
2) A decline of wide receiver talent overall - especially in 2022 - that can likely be proven by the NFL draft data.
3) Coaching turnover especially affected programs that usually are contending programs.
For example, the Lincoln Riley move caused an elite quarterback to go West and leave Oklahoma. Oklahoma is a soft program under Riley but there was some latent OU toughness baked into the program...they simply have a better natural talent pool in their recruiting radius. So we have one of the few elite quarterbacks going to SoCal and playing for a team whose defense was already softer than baby shite without Riley's unconcerned approach to defense. That in essence removed an elite quarterback who might just dunk on a elite team in this modern offensively slanted game. Probably never beats Ohio State much less Georgia at Oklahoma but I think he only could have done it at OU.

Brah, you lost to Vandy. Stay in ur lane. And it’s “reeks”. As in “The entire Gator fan base reeks of insecurity after losing to Vanderbilt.”
And?
We lost to Vandy - so what? Georgia lost to Vandy in Kirby’s first year, or did you already forget that?
Y’all are so weird

When will LSU stop acting like 2019 was last week? 2019 was 16 losses ago. That shite is just getting weird smh.

We have a weak schedule. Part of it is Georgia Tech's fault for being so limp wristed in football.
Y’all really need to drop Tech like we did Tulane years ago.

Why? So we can schedule a strong Power 5 opponent like you, Bama, Tennessee and Auburn do.
We already do that anyway, hoss.

Clemson hasn't been as good, basically. Aside from that, what the frick else has changed. Instead of the vagueries, why not just say "Clemson hasn't been as good."

I don't think that is the whole story though Clemson certainly is an example of the elite teams without elite quarterbacks problem I mentioned above.

Can't all go from Richt to Kirby. You should be a bit humble and feel blessed.
I remember plenty we bent yall over it was ugly on your part for years too.
Btw UF toughest schedule in the SEC by far this year.

Because it's an snooze fest of a "rivalry" that shouldn't keynote your season, just like Tulane was for us. I can remember standing underneath the stands in Tiger Stadium the last week of the regular season watching the Iron Bowl on the monitor while we were skull dragging Tulane, and that was during the freaking Dinardo era. We all have our share of big games and cupcakes, but ya'll should end the season with a more competitive game.

The same can be said for UGA vs Auburn and UGA vs Florida.
When we are up at our highest, of course our rivals are going to be at their lowest.
There are only so many wins to go around.
