On a positive note, they didn't promote the high school coach.
Birmingham, Birmingham
There ain't no place like Birmingham

I thought only Mizzou strove for home runs in football. At least according to one rant poster.

My guess is that UGA will be the force in the East for the foreseeable future - as McElwain really does have some rebuilding to do that has been masked by a super weak East division.
They will be playing for 2nd place just like all the other east teams besides Tennessee. VOLS will be owning the division for the next 2-3 years.

Yes we are. Good luck finding another guaranteed 10 win season UGA, dumbasses lol.

Im more amazed that Herman turned UGA down
The "search" was a formality. Kirby was the guy.

Coaching defense is going to be easy for him, but what will help UGA most is the fact that Kirby learned Sabans mastery of how to employ university booster groups to develop relationships with high school coaches to be able to steer recruits to Athens in exchange for new weight rooms, stadium improvements, cars for uncles and aunts who "loan" them to the "student-athlete" for use while they are in school, house-sitting gigs, wink-wink relationships with campus police department, retailers and haberdasheries to outfit the players, etc. Not to mention put pressure on kids family members with special inducements to assure that they kid ends up in Athens. Saban is the master. He's the best stealthy cheater in the history of the conference not named Bear Bryant, and Kirby has learned all his tricks. Good days ahead for UGA, until of course they ever pose a legitimate threat to supercede the master and then they get an ill-timed visit from Emmerts henchmen from Indianapolis.

I am disappointed that Pruitt isn't staying. Smart may be the right guy, I just wished they would have at least tried to interview a few people before making this decision.

If he's so good at stealthily cheating, how the frick would you know about it, and conversely, how wouldn't the NCAA know if you know?

Stealthy cheating
As opposed it outright cheating using bag men and casinos?

it must be weird for Saban to groom these guys who go on to be his direct competitor. it's like competing with/teaching your son or little brother knowing one day he may be able to whip your arse.
in particular the interesting thing is recruiting. i lot of these top kids, including right this second, will have Bama and UGA as their finalists.

As opposed to the kind that can withstand a comprehensive 13-month full scale investigation by the NCAA and not only find zero major violations, but zero secondary ones.
