Same thing Foley is doing, no?

No.

Foley cancelled Florida's home game - which is his prerogative. What is NOT his, or Stankey's, prerogative is cancelling LSU's home game.

Wrong, they chose to cancel their home game and just take the insurance money for the university.

LSU is a little more concerned about the economic impacts to the community as a whole.

At this moment in time, the economy in Louisiana is more important. We were fricked before the flood because of crooked politicians.

well if your school isn't going to help fix UF's screw up, maybe all of you should just stfu instead of thinking that lsu should take one aggy style.

sidenote: that article doesn't discuss this made up 8 games must be played rule.

someone should link that rule because i still don't buy it.

can't wait for chaos

We probably won't make it to Atlanta, but if we need to fill in a game on 12/3 I'm sure USC will be available!

I really hate for any city to take that blow to their economy, just don't understand how LSU looks hard-headed when they offered EVERY scenario possible at the time, to get the game played and UF declined.

It was linked from a legit site in the tiger rant a few days back. I'm just not going to look for it because I have seen it already.

And I'm lazy.

I don't think the majority of the conference outside of BR or Knoxville gives a shite whether this game is played or not. It won't have any bearing other than possibly helping LSU become bowl eligible and determining where UF goes bowling.

They don't really want to play UF but they also don't want to look scared and the fans are back into homer mode after the Missouri win. The game doesn't mean anything to LSU and this way they get to save the travel money to help them afford a new coach.

Two-team tie-breaker procedure[edit] Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams. Although all division rivals meet during the season and NCAA overtime is played in case of a tie game, NCAA Rule 3-3-3, Suspending the Game, has two provisions (c and d) for a tie game in case of weather or other emergency situation, or logistics makes it impossible for the two tied teams' game to be played in case of severe weather. As such, SEC rules still contain the remaining procedures if those circumstances were to happen.[6] Records of the tied teams within the division. Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last. Complete record vs. all non-divisional opponents. Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams if there be any. Record vs. common non-divisional opponent (if there be any) with the best overall conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division. Best cumulative conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents Coin flip of the tied teams

LSU fans that think otherwise are just delusional.

You will either figure out a way to make it to Gainesville or you won't. But the conference isn't going to change any rules for you, or UF, re: eligibility for Atlanta. It's laughable that anyone thinks otherwise.

Also, I HIGHLY doubt any other SEC teams are going to rearrange their schedule and inconvenience their fans who have made travel and lodging plans for a certain game on a certain date.

It's a moot point anyway because LSU won't win out.

Yes, I know another thread wasn't needed, but I think a dose of reality is.

That's all I've got to say about that.

So, you agree with the LSU AD.

The time to play that game was last weekend/monday.

The list of option available are all "crazy" type of things that you rightfully recognize are long shots.

Having said that, if you want to consider the commissioner's statement that the game needs to be played, the best answer is the following:

* The SEC pays the buyout for both cupcake games on Novermber 19th (Reportedly it is willing to do that)
* Florida travels to LSU on the 19th (LSU doesn't lose a home game and associated revenue, Florida has already lost that revenue and is facing no alternative to get it back, and it is a built in penalty to Florida for making a football decision not to play the game and blame it on the hurricane)

I don't think this is going to happen. In fact, I don't think the teams are going to play at all. But, if the game needs to be played, this is the best way to get it done.

The bottom line is that LSU offered to play at Florida on Sunday or Monday. What don't you comprehend?
