You won't see me start or comment in another thread.

Obviously I will address any follow-up posts in a thread I started.

Thanks for the bump though.

If it turns out that the game isn't played, we'll be searching for a new commissioner very soon.

Possibly. I doubt it, but who knows.

And if what I read earlier, sorry no link, about the SEC requiring a minimum of 8 games, UF won't be eligible to be in Atlanta either unless they play the game.

The whole conference isn't going to scramble to see this game played. It will be on the two teams involved to hammer it out.

If I'm wrong then I will gladly bump this thread and admit it.

Sankey has shown himself to be incredibly weak throughout this ordeal. It's his job to work this out and even force the hands of both teams if they can't come together on their own. Even if the game is played, I'm not sure he can recover from that. SEC ADs will eat him alive and he's set the tone that he's a weak leader.

It's hard to come back from that when you're supposed to be the leader and handling all these schools is a lot like herding cats. These things will come up again as will harder issues. This one should've been easy for the commish to solve and Slive would've solved by telling them you play on Monday or whatever.

I don't see how Sankey rescues his image or reestablishes himself as a leader. It's possible but he's created a mess for himself.

I haven't really kept up with what's being said about him nationally to say one way or another.

I do agree with your points though about Slive and the conference needing a string leader.

I'm going to laugh my arse off if Missouri beats them. Also, your thread sucks. We will drop 30 on them now or whenever. Personally, I hope they force the tigers to move the game. And make the seniors give up their Senior Night. Because that would make that whole team put Florida on notice.

Just trying to add a dose of reality to the board after reading absurd thread after thread about what accommodations LSU fans think other SEC teams and the SEC will make.

LSU doesn't think anyone will make accommodations.

LSU is stating what accommodations will need to be made if everyone wants this game played.

LSU will not give up a home game and take a -$6.5M hit to the athletic budget just to play the UF game.

You do come off as being very worried about LSU.

LSU was the one with the vision last week and made any and all concession to play this game anywhere anytime last weekend. LSU was the one that predicted this exact situation and said from the very beginning is was going to be very difficult to get this game in if not done over the weekend.

Your thread is simply stating what LSU was saying LAST WEEK. Now the rest of the SEC gets it and is trying to turn LSU into the bad guy for some reason and we are standing our ground.

If the Gators had done this to Bama - LOL

The SEC would have already made a ruling favoring Bama

Sankey should have kept his mouth shut in the media. He is just pandering to a fickle and defeated fan base that has always been a sucker for a conspiracy theory.

His comment that LSU would play on its bye week only if Alabama played someone on its bye was childish and illogical. Like I said....pandering.

It won't be played. I don't think any LSU fans expect it to be played in Baton Rouge.

I agree, we won't win out. The only one who gets screwed is the Vols, just the way Foley and McIlwain wanted.

This was Foley and stanky Sankey's screw up.

To be honest, the best thing about this is that the state of Florida dodged a bullet. While there is still plenty of death and property loss it could have been much worse. The game is really insignificant. Everyone should move on from this.

Also, I HIGHLY doubt any other SEC teams are going to rearrange their schedule and inconvenience their fans who have made travel and lodging plans for a certain game on a certain date.

well if that is the thinking then the game won't be played. LSU and Florida aren';t going to rearrange their schedule or inconvenience their fans either.

The opportunity to play the game already happened. For some reason it was chosen not to be played when it easily could have been played. Saturday, Sunday or Monday in Gianesville, or Baton Rouge, or a neutral site would have been fine for everyone involved, except Foley and Sankey chose not to play the game. Can't go back in time unless you have a time machine.

no one thinks any SEC team is going to make accomadations to get this game played so why do people keep saying the game needs to be played if no one is going to make accomadations to make it happen.

Of course the SEC office is going to have to review and change the rules on how the championship teams will be determined this season due to they are the ones that changed the schedule this season.
