It's not a blurry area.
Sure it is. What if there was a particular and credible accusation that he was a serial rapist or serial killer, but the investigation wasn't far enough along to merit an arrest? Limiting his contact with the student body for a reasonable amount of time is a reasonable response for a University. Assume it was Ted Bundy instead of a falsely accused person.

I would sue the university if they didn't drop the SCoC suspension

That wasn't the case here was it?

There was a girl accusing him of raping her in his room without any physical evidence of a rape occurring. There was simply an allegation.

Welcome to the big league, aggie. Florida hid the fact that Aarron Hernandez was a murderer for a few years just so they could do the Tebow shot put pass a few times.

there was evidence of intercourse, which is an element of rape. The investigation was ongoing. I'm not saying the University should have suspended him from campus, but it wasn't an unreasonable action to the extent it was for a reasonable amount of time to determine the credibility of accusation and the threat posed by the accused.

The school is in a very difficult position in these matters.

That girl had to be from Louisiana.

There was evidence of the contact being consensual as well.

Suspending a student from campus for a week is unreasonable when there is no evidence to indicate he committed a crime.

They really are. And now that the government is threatening to strip schools of their Title IX money if they don't handle sexual assaults as they should, they almost have to go "overboard".

Meh. Dropping accusations is minor league. You aren't doing real work until someone falls up a flight of stairs.

And testimony that it wasn't.

There was some evidence, just not enough at the time for probable cause.

What if was guilty and he raped another student while they were still collecting evidence?

Again, tough spot for the school. It is certainly reasonable to disagree with their decision, but it is unreasonable to pretend it is a simple black and white issue.

Considering the Title IX investigation needs to conclude before he can rejoin the team (Per UF), I doubt he will be on the team for the game tomorrow. They could conclude the investigation fairly quickly, but super unlikely it would end today or even next week. (Look how long Winston's case has been under a Title IX investigation and he's still playing -- those FSU standards I tell ya)

This girl wrecked this kid's career. It will take some time for him to recover and be a full participant on the team. Hopefully by the Georgia game. Hoping I am wrong and UF wraps up their investigation sooner than that.

They didn't need probable cause, Treon granted a search.

They needed probable cause to make an arrest.

Does UF have some sort of super predicting power that I am not aware of and if so why didn't we use it to realize Muschamp is not a great head coach?

What are you talking about? There was no arrest made nor were charges filed against him.

I know.
