Some of her logic is off but I can look past it given that she was speaking from emotion. Overall, a solid retort. I don't disagree with her, but I don't disagree with Mr. Bailey either. What it comes down to is Tray et al doing what they did to be dismissed or pushed out casts a dark cloud over the UGA program. I think what Mr. Bailey and the fans are asking for is a little humility and apology on the way out the door instead of what feels like grandstanding on Twitter and through the papers. I don't blame Tray's aunt for firing back (I would) but I do think she's looking at this from the vantage of a victim of a personal attack which isn't the same lens through which Bailey and the fanbase are seeing it.

The link is broken so what makes you think she actually wrote it tyler?

This is fair. However, keep in kind that teenage males often lack this type of humility which is unfortunate
I think what pissed her off and maybe hurt the most was the assumption that Tray was some parentless tPOS with no one to hold him accountable when that could be further from the truth.
People with kids know that sometimes your best efforts to guide them in one direction only makes them run the other way. We should all be more thoughtful before assuming every player lacks guidance and family support rather than just being a college student that does dumb things at times

I agree that this was an unfair assumption made by a lot of people, but that's the nature of the beast in this sort of situation.

Which is the crux of Bailey's argument: tell your kids to shut their mouths, be humble, and move on. Far be it for anyone to tell someone else how to raise their kids, but this should be common sense especially when you're a D1 football player walking across the street to go live in the rival's house. Say you're sorry, release a statement of your intentions to go to Auburn or Louisville or wherever, and then just lay low for a month or so until cooler heads prevail (or if that's too much to ask, make your twitter private).

I agree, but the damage was done when Tray and the other guys persisted to act a fool which resulted in their dismissal. At that point, you have a volatile situation that now goes beyond the player himself and extends to the emotions of an entire nation of fans. As a parent, you need to step in and at least coach your kid through that situation because (as it has happened here) the kid has never been in this kind of PR arena before and he/she is liable to say or do something that is going to make it worse (even if their intentions were pure and for the best).

I would really like to see the comments where young Matthews and/or his family were critical of UGA on his way out the door
I asked this of the Uga fans as they were giving praise and cheers to Bailey's comments, and not one of them could provide a linked quote. Good for the Aunt calling him out on the carpet. As Bailey made baseless accusations, and frick off to those who claim they should be silent.

Again, Mr. Bailey's comments weren't all about Tray Matthews. He talks about Wiggins specifically.
In terms of Tray's comments, the only one that comes to mind is the "I was leaving anyway" comment. It seemed like sour grapes, and a lot of people took it as a slight.

Tweet by Shaq Wiggins posted shortly after Tray's dismissal. It has since been deleted.
These are some of the areas that are drawing ire from UGA fans and these were comments that preceded the Bailey article. After the dismissal went down (so preceding the Bailey comments), Tray never should have gone to the media on his own. If he wanted to set the record straight, he should have had his parents (or Aunt since she seems to be a strong writer) help him write out a formal statement.
Then, they (Tray and the other guys) need to stay off of Twitter and refrain from posting every emotional thing that pops into their head For a teenager or young adult, it may not seem like much. But college football fans and critics have a very skewed view of these kids and nobody is going to care what the context of the tweet is supposed to be. This is called "audience awareness" and I don't think most college athletes realize that they signed up to dance around on a very transparent stage for at least four years of their lives.
Furthermore, observe how nobody is bringing up Josh Harvey-Clemons or Uriah Lemay in this, other than by referencing JHC as being one of the guys dismissed. They haven't said a damn word and that has been to their benefit.

she gets her point across, i guess that's at least semi-strong. she's probably the only member of the family who could actually accomplish that.

You dont think the brother of Tray who graduated from college with honors could do that?

Yes, not a violation as they were paid for with cash and only came in $10 amounts. Suck it NCAA.

No they weren't, but he did include Tray and his family and called them out specifically. I was going to transfer anyway is what triggered Bailey's response? LOL
