I think you're forgetting that Mr. Bailey wasn't just talking about Matthews. He was also talking about Wiggins and JHC. I took his comments about those criticisms to be more directed at Wiggins. If you didn't see it, Wiggins was pretty outspoken on twitter, notably saying "it's not us, it's them."

They weren't vicious lies. Mr. Bailey has some credibility in this situation. His son knows Tray and how he behaved, and he knows the family. Who are you to say he was lying. You just didn't like what he said. Him defending his son's program isn't much different than Tray's aunt speaking out. I wish neither had done so, but they did.
