A bigger question is how did Nick Saban lose a game after being up 24 pts?

how the hell they were able to keep him eligible?
I think the final opinion was that Newton's Dad accepted money but that Cam Newton knew nothing about it (wink wink nudge nudge)
I'm pretty sure ncaa rules were passed after that declaring that parents couldn't accept money for a player, same as an agent.

player had no knowledge of the ATTEMPT to gain money. There is no proof that money ever exchanged hands at all. Only proof is that the father attempted to gain money from MSU.

Why the NCAA never got involved was beyond anyone's comprehension.
pretty sure they investigated that situation fairly thoroughly and AU's compliance dept put on a clinic, but you do you man.

Milt McGregor and Bobby Lowder paid off the NCAA.

"The money was too much" Cam to Mullen's wife.
What did he mean by that? He was offended at the amount MSU was expected to pay? He knew about the money?

We don't know the details of the investigation. Have you seen transcripts of interviews?
Is the Auburn position (1) they got away with it, (2) the NCAA simply could not prove what happened but know money was exchanged to the Dad or his church, or (3) Cam simply loved Auburn so much that he told his Dad to stop shopping him around to the tune of $200k...and no more 20k discounts to schools like MSU?

Memories, Cam the gift that keeps on giving.
This was a story that had no legs to it. A MSU former player (Rogers) was pushing to get Cam to sign with MSU and tried to get money for Cecil. The former MSU player never contacted Auburn. MSU may or may not have made a down payment to Rogers, but no proof was ever given that Cecil or Cam got any money from anyone.
It would not have been fair to penalize Auburn for the crimes that MSU made.
so the NCAA found away to prevent that from happening.
Auburn was innocent and remains innocent.
MSU is a crappy program with a terrible person as a head coach.

You are very naive if you think Newton solicited money from MSU, but then his son went to Auburn for nothing.
Everybody knows Cam Newton was bought and paid for.

So Auburn gets favored treatment?
MSU offers Cecil money. Prevailing thought is if Cam went to Auburn they must have paid. Investigation on. Note: We were pronounced clean and the team on tape was never investigated.
Now, you have a player at hail who says he was offered money by ole miss during recruitment. ole miss is being investigated. By Cam logic, shouldn't hail be investigated?
Now, who is getting favored treatment?
