Actually, they do not. Click the link.

You might as well link Amazon.com along with those....being as they both are completely irrelevant to what stat actually determines which defense was better.

aww maybe I'll hang around a little longer.

I hope you do. I'm waiting to see you try to justify LSU having a better defense based on yellow being brighter on the color wheel than red and blue...

Auburn
63rd scoring D
66th total D
69th rush D
70th pass D

5th in INTs
45th FF
42nd in TFL
94th in sacks
108th FR

This data tells me that Auburn lived and died by INTs. Muschamp is not some miracle worker and getting a bunch of transfers and freshman on defense will not turn them around in year one. I can see some improvement, but nowhere near top 25.

We died by not having a pass rush, everything crumbled from there. we expect that to change this year

so when did the rules change that allowed games to be scored by things other than points?

You constantly claiming others as spinning doesn't change the fact that you've spun more than a Kenmore washer. Also doesn't change the fact that points are the only statistic that determines winners and losers.

We had a better rushing defense and scoring defense than you. We had more sacks, TFLs, interceptions, fumbles recovered etc.

He said we had arguably the best defense. We make a pretty good argument. LSU's defense beat us in two stats total and passing defense by margins that are tiny.

Constantly?

I'm just claiming that you're spinning, man.

I'm using actual Total Defense statistics that are used by every major statistic gathering resource available, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which is about as legit as one can get.

I could also show some others like ESPN and even bleacher report if you want examples of some lesser reliable outlets.

I've never denied that. All I've said is that the history books currently and will always have LSU as the #1 rated defense in the SEC for 2014. That is a fact.

except for the statistic that determines who wins and loses a game.

You can ignore relevant, statistical proof all that you want....doesn't mean that the bullshite you're trying to spin is correct.

Just because you say that is a fact doesn't make that a fact.

I can keep saying the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor and post a movie clip of someone saying that....but it doesn't make that a fact.

Yes, the NCAA is bullshite and I'm just spinning.

Even though I've linked multiple statistic outltes that have LSU above OM.

Oh I know. My statement means nothing. But I think you forgot about the part where I corroborated my statement with actual ranking from the NCAA, and others.

Well if you had some actual data to back this up, as I do, then it would be fact. But since you don't....then yes, it's not a fact.

If you really cared about stats you'd respond to the multiple ones I've posted about that I pulled from your links. I think that proves that we had arguably the best defense.

Total defense is not 1 statistic.

Plenty of other people, most actually, use Total Defense as an overall ranking.
Here's an example.

LSU's defense bottomed out, then finished No. 1 in SEC

Arguably is fine. Argue all you want. But the NCAA and other outlets disagree with your argument. Total D is not an individual stat.

hence the word total.

Sure but that's not where this argument originated is it? You said LSU's defense was better with no qualifiers. Well I've shown plenty of stats that prove otherwise. Continually posting total defense is actually counterproductive to your own argument.

Total yardage which is an average. That's not the only statistic by which defenses are measured. Like I said the difference is one first down a game and 158 yards total. If you take in how many more plays our defense saw(70) that is actually more impressive for us. Also I dare you to find a team with as bad of TOP as us and with a total defense ranking anywhere near us. Thanks for playing.

I don't think you even know where this originated. I've not denied anything you've posted. Simply said the history books show LSU as #1 in the SEC for 2014. Only OM fans use Total D as an individual stat, because it suits your argument. Everyone else understands the meaning of the word "total".

I'm gonna need you to quote me on this.

I've said probably 5 times by now that the history books show LSU as #1. I haven't argued any of your individual stats.

quote:

No, it's not. It's the measuring stick used to rank defenses in their totality. It's used everywhere else except Oxford, Mississippi apparently.
