Its delusional that God "wanted" you to win and therefore you won. Kennedy is not the only one who does it, many people in sports do it. Who can forget Chizik and his "it was a God thing". Er go, God smoted him in 2011 & 2012

There are several independent references to Christ in the historical record. ctiger cited the main ones. Although it can't be proven most secular historians believe the evidence supports the existence of a man name Jesus, who was a Galilean, who was baptised by the John the baptist, who was crucified, and a religion/cult developed from this

Noir rose from Him performing miracles and being risen from the dead and ascending into heaven after hundreds saw him post being crucified

Kennedy didn't say "God wanted A&M to win"

Why don't you re-read the op and title

Linking God in any way to a sporting contest is downright goofy. I'm sure God would agree

I agree in as much as I don't understand why some atheists seem to hate an entity they claim to not believe in. I'm as incapable of hating God as I am the Aliens from Independence Day.

IMO it speaks to an insecurity within them, trying to convince themselves of something they still struggle with.

Lee Strobel is low IQ apologetics for the unquestioning masses. His books and talks are all presuppositional circular reasoning. There are far better Christtian apologists and theologians out there for people seeking true depth on the topic.

Lee Strobel has a law degree from Yale. The man is very intelligent. No, he is not a great theologian and he will be the first to admit this. The video was simply his testimony. He was a die hard Athetist and in 2 years then ultimately became a die hard Christian. During this process he interviews some of the hard hitters theologians that you might be referring too. But some people can relate more to a smart Athetist who went on this journey. They might be curious to what he discovered that changed his mind. Non beliefs can relate more to Lee Strobel better than a great Thelogian who has been studying the bible for 50 plus years and born into religion.

As for your Christian Apologists, please list them or link some of their videos. I'll look at your favorite ones. Be specific.

I see it the same way as if he bet 00 on the roulette wheel, hit it, won a 100 grand, and said to God be the Glory.

what about 1 Corinthians 13:11? That's probably the most appropriate verse for a sports board. We should begin there

Note to Billy K. God does not care who wins or loses a basketball game.

I doubt that was his intention.

Lucian of Samosata 115-200 AD

The Toledot Yeshu 1000 AD

You are proving the deniers' point. 52 AD is in fact 19 years after Jesus' death. NOT CONTEMPORARY!

I said before, I have no agenda. Just because it is unequivocally factual that there is no known contemporary writing about Jesus does not mean he did not exist. Those two factual statements are not mutually exclusive. There is no contemporary writing that King Authur ever existed, but that legend grew from something.

Same can be said about Robin of Loxly (spelling?). I actually believe he was Robin Hood, but I can't provide proof.

Ignoring facts makes your arguments look weaker. It's also fallacy on the denier's part to take the position that the proof of no evidence is unequivocal evidence of no proof.

That's all I am saying, man. I am not denying Jesus existed. Just agreeing that important evidence is missing.

You seem to not realize that the New Testament is a collection of books written by different men from different backgrounds at different times documenting different works and parts of the life of Jesus

Good point Sarge. So weird this thread is about God, when it should be about what a good person BK is.

You obviously don't know what contemporary means. Let's put it this way... If there were a guy raising people from the dead and doing crazy arse miracles, why is there no first hand account from one of the millions of people who would have witnessed or heard something from a witness bringing this story together? There are only a few "accounts" written well after he died. Quite enough time for a group of people to invent a "saviour" and spread word around that he was God incarnate. People would believe just about anything back then with no proof at all, just hearsay, and apparently nothing has changed.
