I think many of the more sensible UA fans are making the case that he should be an invitee, with which I agree. I don't see anyone beating out JFF or Winston (or maybe Petty).

I wouldn't want anyone else at QB for Bama
Bama has always been about Championships 1st
If individual rewards comes from all that, it's a bonus
If AJ McCarron wins the Heisman, it will be deserved
If not, that will be OK too......

To do what AJ McCarron has done in this conference for 3 yrs is quite amazing. Especially when considering the parity in today's CFB landscape. Plus the SEC plays the toughest defense in the nation, the SEC has won the last 7 BCS titles, everyone is gunning for Bama weekly, and AJ still continues to deliver. Every time Bama has needed AJ McCarron to step up he has, that simple. AJ has shown unbelievable resiliency during the great come backs, and even in the few loses Bama has had with him at the helm. AJ McCarron has gotten Bama in position to win everyone of those games in the end. We Bama fans are lucky to have him leading our team.

Stats only tells 1/2 the story
AJ McCarron is the complete package
Anything less than an invite would be an insult

If you're reading this, thanks AJ McCarrron

Literally no one has said that. JFF deserves it.
Incorrect, there is a few, not most, saying he does. But i agree it is unfair to simply call him a game manager. Yall's ginger was a game manager. Aj is more than that

You and I both know the implication of "game manager" is he doesn't make mistakes or make big plays. He's just average and "manages" the team.

What is crazy is if Bama somehow doesnt win the SEC this year, AJ will leave with only 1 SEC title. I feel like he has 8

The connotation is that any QB could do what AJ is doing which of course is ridiculous. AJ does what is needed. I would be interested to see how McCarron would do if Alabama had A&Ms defense. It's pretty easy to throw the ball away or take a sack on 3rd down knowing your defense can stop the other team. JFF has to score on almost every drive or we lose.

JFF has put up amazing numbers but he is not going to win it. Winston is your Heisman winner barring a late season calamity. McCarron will be in New York should they finish the season 13-0.

I think AJ deserves it just as much as Winston and Mariotta.

But the "game manager" label comes with an implication that all the QB does is hand the ball off and throw a bunch of dump offs. AJ got that label in 2011 because that's pretty much what he did. The last 2 years that hasn't been the case at all though.

Bama won the 2012 National Championship as a pass-first team. And people still think of Bama as ground-and-pound.

I know, and that's sad.

I liken it to the "boring" label ppl like to give the Spurs.

Denigrates sound, consistent, winning play.

Good point. Our D allows us to play very conservative. Saturday night was a good example. We could've taken a time out on LSU's last possession and had 1:20 left to do something before the half. Instead we decided to play it safe and take a 3 point lead into halftime. I was pretty upset because I remembered how well AJ has driven the ball in 2 minute offense the last couple games against LSU

No.

Johnny Manziel
Jameis Winston
Bryce Petty
Teddy Bridgewater
Tajh Boyd
Marcus Mariota

The above quarterbacks are all easily better than AJ McCarron, and more deserving of an invitation to New York. However, if Alabama goes 13-0 and plays for the National Championship again, I'm completely OK with AJ McCarron getting an invite. There's no way he will win, but how often does a quarterback win 3 National Championships? Plus, we all know you pretty much have to be on a winning team to be considered (which is bullshite, IMO).

Petty, bridgewater, and mariota are inferior to AJ.

Boyd is perhaps his peer. Still give AJ the nod.

Why not just add Nick Marshall to the list. Or Conner Shaw. Weren't you claiming he was better than AJ last year?

You act like I'm just placing SEC quarterbacks in front of him. The guys I listed are the best in the country.

He was at one point before getting hurt. He has an argument this year, but he can't ever stay healthy.

As is AJ

Shaw is a great QB. AJ is just better.
