Once again AJ is 5-2 in big time games. That is good, but Cam was 3-0. And Tebow was around 5-2 as well. And every freakin game JFF plays is big time for him

You're using one criteria of a "big-time" game for AJ, and a different one for Newton/Tebow

If he can, will you be okay with him being a Heisman contender?

No because team accomplishments shouldn't have the ultimate bearing on an individual award. You don't give the biletnikoff to Norwood because he has 2 titles and on route for a 3rd either. Winning games should be the "tie breaker". Which is why I think Winston is more deserving than Manziel.

Johnny Manziel shouldn't win the Heisman this year. He has thrown too many shitty lob passes that Mike Evans has bailed him out on. Jameis Winston is 100x the QUARTERBACK (emphasis on QB) that Johnny Manziel will ever be. Better intangibles, fundamentals, and less reckless than JFF.

tider04 with a reasonable post. I like AJ. He should get an invite. Bama has an outstanding team, in every facet. The defense is arguably the best in the country. RBs are unreal. I think Drake is more explosive than Yeldon. And Yeldon is badass. The TE broke the game open on a slant route. Outstanding.

But because AJ isn't asked to do anything outstanding, he doesn't do anything outstanding. It's not his fault. He is a great QB though. Perfect QB to lead Bama in big games because he doesn't take many risks but can still make clutch plays. Isn't MVP of the BCS NCG enough?

That being said, Winston is the frontrunner. The voters probably have some JFF fatigue. The only way JFF could get it is if he beats both LSU and Mizzou on the road. With our Defense as bad as it is, that would certainly be outstanding.

I thinks CNS said it best when he said AJ was the best QB. Does what is asked and has delivered year in, year out.

Would Bama be going after BCS NC #4 if AJ was not the qb?

Yeah I know AJ has a great supporting cast and all...but so does JFF. JFF has been bailed out several times by his WR's when JFF would throw passes up for grabs. AJ, not so much.

Besides TAMU has to score points because their D cannot shut down anyone. Hell even a team full of Stevie Wonders could score against TAMU.

No im not. Newton:Lsu, Bama, and National championship were all games where it was considered a toss up game. Aj: 2011: LSU and LSU. 2012: LSU, A&M, Notre dame. 2013: Lsu & A&M.

Enough commentary from people who don't watch Alabama

If Aj and JFF switched teams beffore the season... what would both teams records be right now?

Could have been much worse had Yeldon not fumbled on the goal line.

Alas, Yeldon did fumble, and there is a 4th quarter.

I haven't really seen any Alabama fans saying AJ should win the Heisman, if they do they're clearly incorrect. However, if Alabama finishes undefeated he'll likely be acknowledged with a trip to New York.

Someone said the Heisman isn't a lifetime achievement award but I think an invite is the right thing to do, regardless if UA goes undefeated or not this year. His W/L record is rare. He hasn't been asked to have Heisman' moments because his his team is so much better than everyone else? But when that that rare time came up what did he do? Starting with the 2011 BCS CG when the team was really put on his shoulders he's came through. 2012 LSU, 2012 ATL...when he was asked to be a Heisman type QB, he came through. 'Heisman invitee' is something he should have on his wall, imo.

Of those you mentioned, only JFF is a Heisman contender for this season. I would never try to make a case against Manziel. I was at the A&M game in Tuscaloosa last year. Guy is amazing. I just believe that AJ has been more outstanding and has accomplished more than JFF this season.

Most likely Bama with 2 losses because AJ would've picked apart our defense and Johnny would be rubbing around like a fool throwing picks for every touchdown he makes.

Bama - undefeated

A&M - 6-4 at best, maybe 5-5 due to losing at Arky

Not a valid comparison as both teams run two totally different systems. AJ is strictly a pro-style QB. He wouldn't fit into Sumlin's system.

Why is there 7 downvotes on the OP? He posted what is objectively true.

You are correct. So 6-2. My point was AJ has not been better in big time games than Newton and Tebow like someone said. But no need to get side tracked anymore

Jff would not throw the ball as much with Bama

And people tend to forget that AJ led the country in Passing Efficiency last year and is #8 and trending upward this year.

I think it is fair because JFF could go into Saban's system and be successful. Other way around, not so much
