The fact that his bail was $300 tells me this was not very serious at all. Maybe stupid on his part and wondering why he thought he needed to have it on him, but I don't think this should warrant a suspension. It's not illegal to have a gun. And the gun wasn't illegally obtained. I think parking in a handicap space without a tag is a more expensive offense.

If he wasn't doing anything illegal or the gun wasn't used in a crime this is a nonstory. In Louisiana what he did is not illegal.
