It's mostly Saban based but after years of losing 2/3 to Bama that probably didn't help.

Is the hate towards Saban like Bama fans are to Coach Fran?

This was not in the Big 12 title game. How many times does this have to be explained to LSU fans? And they lost to ISU after we lost to A&M.

Let me ask LSU fans a question. You are number 2 going into the final week. You beat your biggest rival 42-14. What would you say if you were jumped by number 3? BTR would have burnt to the ground. And OSU didnt play in a title game either. Won that weak arse conference yes, but bottom line they were 3, we were number 2. We did nothing to lose that spot. Had they beaten ISU they would have stayed there.

I don't personally hate you or Bama, but your fans are the unequivocal definition of sidewalk fans. I live in Houston and quite often I see people wearing Bama gear and I always quiz them - "so, when did you graduate from UA?" "Oh, well I didn't actually go there, but who doesn't want to be a part of a winning tradition?"

I can respect what Saban has done for you guys and I'm glad it worked out b/c you contributed to the dominance of the SEC.

With that said, you and go Tigers!

All true, but they are also the best cooks and will share their food with you unless you are a snooty drama queen. I love bringing fans of other teams with me because they get to experience the great traditions of LSU and I get to sample a lot of great food.

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate any teams. I don't care about who your coach is, Bama owned us for years when Bear Bryant was the coach. That is where my dislike for Bama comes from. The fact that Saban is there now does not stoke any passions for Bama either.

LSU has mythical piss balloons and fake stories of drunk 8 year olds who attack opposing grandmas. Bama has video of guys putting their balls on peoples face and fans killing traditional landmarks on opposing teams campuses .

Trust me, I know we have fans who don't understand that "tiger bait" is supposed to be all in fun. I know we have drunk arse-holes. But I've only seen some things to opposing fans that make me shake my head. Never seen anything that would make me want to step in (and I would if I really felt someone was pushing it too far. And too far isn't very far for me. I enjoy hanging out with opposing fans). I've been to a lot of games. Not saying it never happens, but if it happened as frequently as you are trying to depict, I'd have seen it.

The hate reasons:

1.) Cost us a National Championship / Mulligan - we already played a sick schedule and beat you at YOUR place. I think if we had barely beat you in BR that season, there wouldn't be as much saltiness about the mulligan. Tis is life, and it's the way the BCS was setup, so be it.

2.) Saban the recruiter. His objectives are in direct conflict with LSU's objectives. He recruits Louisiana better than any other non-LSU coach. All other aspects of Coach Saban don't bother me.

I dont hate Saban or Bama. I only have respect for them both. I strongly dislike our true rival, Auburn, because of Tuberville.

I'm ok with that. People like to be associated with winners. It just means we're doing something right.

I don't hate any of the Bama players - but I do hate the coaching staff. I have a shite ton of Bama fans around where I live - most of them have never seen the inside of a classroom and can only spell Bama if you give them the first 4 letters.

Alabama is rich in tradition and I have always had a lot of respect for them. Saban has done an amazing job there...still hate his guts though.

Hated Bama when I was a kid because we were so shitty and ya'll were good. Now it is my favorite game every year, there is just so much talent on the field. Definitely respect the Bama program. Now it is not so much hate for Bama, it is just hate for losing. 2011 is a long time since our last win, time to get one back.

Anybody LSU fan that says their hate is no different than before Nick at Bama is lying.

You're either an idiot or too young to have any sense of history re: Bama/ LSU beyond the last 5 or 6 years.

Saban couldn't refuse the dollahs, and noone blames him.

The LSU fans that wish we had him over Miles are the sidewalk-type never-been-in-a-college-classroom fools that think a string of NCs is the ONLY goal in football.

At least we don't let them make up fake NCs that noone in America recognizes outside of T-town.

How does that one-way worship work for you? It bothered me when Saban was here that he so obviously looked down on all of us from his high-horse. I have too much pride in my Alma Mater and my home state to enjoy winning for the sake of winning.

I'm thankful for what he's done for LSU, and he knows what LSU has done for him, but I'd be embarrassed if LSU chased anyone with that ridiculous amount of cash if he couldn't at least ACT like he was happy to be here. If Miles were here only for the money and his own ego, I'd be miserable.

He damn well BETTER win some nattys if that were the case.

You are more than welcome to keep Saban. He's not the ideal hero that you think he is.

It's safe to say that most of you really hate bama but my question is, does most of the hate come because of Nick Saban? Would you still hate if we had another coach?

Its because of Saban but not how you think. Bama is the team in our division that more often than not stands in our way. That wasn't the case until Saban got there (previously it was Auburn). But if the coach had been different, say Urban or Patterson or Kelly, and Bama's success was comparable to what Saban has done, then the hate would be the same. Frankly I don't hate Bama any more than I hated Auburn when Tubs was there.

As much as y'all want to believe otherwise most rational LSU fans don't hate Bama simply because Nick used to coach at LSU. When that dude left for Miami, people still pulled for him to win there. When he came back to the SEC, we didn't love it but at that time Auburn and Florida were bigger concerns to LSU. If he'd come back to one of those schools in 2007 people probably would have lost it. Nobody really cared until he started winning. But again if someone else instead of him had come to a school in our division and started winning we'd hate that dude just as much.

We very likely win national championships in 2011 and maybe 2012 too if not for Bama. This is why I hate Bama. I hate Saban because of this as well but I would hate any coach/school that was doing this to us.

ETA: There is also some additional hate for Saban because of his recruiting success in Louisiana which is unmatched by any other non LSU coach in college football.
