It may have been mentioned before and I'm lazy, but one obvious reason is to give an extra day of rest before the tournament.

Can you imagine the freak up of traffic on the i10 and i12 interstates in baton rouge if we had a Thursday night game lol

11 losses over three year span, no worries. The lol was a cute add on though, the tigers will love it.
