Auburn @ Kentucky (10/15)
Mississippi State @ Missouri (11/5)
Those are the only non-Saturday SEC games this year.
Why Thursday? That totally fricks up people's work and travel schedule. Not a big fan of Thursday night games...especially when Auburn is involved. Saturday just seems empty after these early games. Why do this?

I love Thursday games. It is as close as CFB gets to Monday Night Football...primetime, the attention of the entire country. As long as you aren't playing a cupcake, it is usually a good atmosphere.

I don't care about the TV exposure. How is playing Kentucky on a Thursday going to make any difference?

I thought this was going to be about A&M @ Ole Miss and LSU @ USCe.

and to think, I was told by most on this board that I was crazy for believing this was going to start happening.
a whole bunch of "herp derp real teams dont play on Thursday" nonsense was parroted all over the place.
well guess what?
within 5 years there is going to be a Thursday night SECN game EVERY week.

Let's assume this game was played on ESPNU or SEC Network on a Saturday vs a Thursday night on ESPN which is going to get more exposure?

To maximize live events for them to broadcast. I hate Thursday night games from a logistical standpoint.

It would have the same appeal to me honestly. The infamous "3-2" game against Mississippi State was the same way...and also played on a Thursday. Hate this trend.

No want no thursday.
As my coach at JSU said, college football is played on saturday afternoon.

It doesn't. Not all schools will even allow for their football teams to play on a Thursday night.
Florida State no loner does it since general student parking uses the same lots that people use for the football games.
Academics before sports.

neither will UGA, not at home anyway.
Based on our campus and parking, thigns are already a cluster just on Saturdays. If we had a thursday night game, they'd have to close down campus all day Thursday, and LOL if they think anyone is going to class that Friday.
Not to mention the working folks it woudl piss off for having to basically take thursday and friday off of work as well. Not good.

The games on Thursday night are just as appealing (or not appealing) even if they were played on Saturday It's just the fact that theres not a bunch of other games on Thursday to take away audience from the Thursday night games.

I agree. Plus you have to factor in tailgating. How is this a benefit? Most people actually have to WORK on Thursdays. And...then go back to their job the next morning if they value it.

The 3-2 AU / MSU game was played on a Saturday Evening, not a Thursday
AU played in Starkville on a Thursday in 2010
