LSU has asked to never play any Thurs games, logistics are too difficult around campus and traffic would be a nightmare.
Hurricane would be only reason to move off Sat for LSU home games like when they moved Tenn to Monday night.
LSU plays the occasional road Thurs venue if asked

You have a bye the week before and it will give you more time to prepare for Arky. Why is this a bad thing?

It would have the same appeal to me honestly. The infamous "3-2" game against Mississippi State was the same way...and also played on a Thursday. Hate this trend.
I remember every detail of that game, because it was so riveting. It was played on a Saturday night. We played LSU on a Thursday night to open the season in 2007. Michael Henig threw about 14 interceptions on 17 pass attempts. ESPN wanted no more Croom on Thursday night.
IIRC, our game at Missouri this year will be our first Thursday night game since that '07 season opener. And we used to be the king of cheap exposure Thursday night games. Played three in one year one time under Larry "I'll sell a Florida home game to the city of Orlando" Templeton.
Edit: Sorry, I forgot we did play the Egg Bowl a couple years ago on Thanksgiving night.

Yet the only team to play on Sunday. Wasn't an SEC game, but regardless. Sunday.

Why Thursday? That totally fricks up people's work and travel schedule. Not a big fan of Thursday night games...especially when Auburn is involved. Saturday just seems empty after these early games. Why do this?

Well, I guess I forgot every detail...even the date haha.
For a reason!

Occasional meaning every other year.

Maybe for a high profile match-up in the first or second week...but not in the middle of your SEC schedule. I really thought about going up there because we only go there every decade or so (or so it seems), but apparently not now. Having a nice Saturday for the game and then Sunday to recuperate is what SEC games are all about.

No..I think you're wrong. I remember reading that score as it was going on while in Death Valley (LSU may have been playing North Texas or some shite team).

Didn't Auburn best State on a Thursday night game in 2010?
Was a close game too

Holiday weekend...makes sense to me.

I must have been remembering the Thursday night South Carolina game where they didn't touch the ball a single time for the entirety of the 3rd quarter.
Thanks for your corrections though guys.
I guess that 3-2 game screwed with my head more than I thought.

That was it. 17-14 Thursday night in 2010. Cam Newton was hardly even known then. Things quickly began to change.

I like Thursday games personally.

Apologies in advance for your team's impending loss.
Thursday nights are magical in Commonwealth.

Yeah wtf is wrong with a game on Thurs night? Does it interfere with your burger flipping shift?
I love that it frees up a four hour chunk on Saturday.

Do you mean Tennessee will never play one in the future? You have in the past, and that was when they were actually good.

Others who have had scheduled Thursday games as an SEC member since 2003: Vanderbilt (five games), Mississippi State (five), Kentucky (four), Ole Miss (three), Auburn (three), LSU (two), Alabama (one), Arkansas (one), and Texas A&M (one). Texas A&M was scheduled to play on a Thursday last year but the game was postponed due to weather.
I hate them.. Sucked with regards to KSU last year and UK this year.. hard for students and fans to visit... We also did this on away game against WVU.. JJ is dumb...
