In a hundred years of football you want to pick literally the only possible timeline that makes it look competitive

No. I just don't see how 1920 football is relevant to today

And i find it funny that you honestly believe lsu has not become competitive with Alabama

Well in 2002 Nick Saban was LSU's coach, Franchione was Bama's and Bama won 31-0. Is that relevant to today?

Its impossible to explain because they have no frame of reference for what a rivalry actually is

Ok thanks for the explanation. That makes sense

I haven't been watching football long enough to care about "rivalries". I just didn't understand how you could say lsu Bama isn't a great matchup

Nick has been great for our program. Really hope we can hold on to him for 5 more years.

Um, some of us don't live in a state where we only can follow college football.

LSU doesn't have a mutual rival, and it doesn't need a mutual rival.

Man you guys try so hard to seek validation.

I'm pretty sure no Bama fan gives a fxck about what Les Miles says in his press conferences.

Sorry , for the present and unseen future Saban is BAMA. Without Saban you go back to middle of the pack.

Perhaps, however due to Bama's illustrious history the hiring of a very good coach isn't that far fetched.

Now had Saban not coached at LSU, LSU would be hovering around the bottom of the league just like the Dinardo era. And based on LSU'S not so great past, hiring a name brand coach is far fetched.

So basically both programs have benefited from having Saban as their coach.

So now you believe Nick Saban decides who is what schools rivals in this sport....

What is already historically set is what it is and there will be no changing that.

It is okay to have a series get competitive at a certain point in time and really become an important game for a few years, but that does not make it a rivalry. Just enjoy it and keep your schools historical rivals alive. Its great fun Schools and fans dont always have to have the latest, greatest thing and always say look at me, look at me.
