Bama is a rival only because Saban is there and they beat us more than any other sec team. It's not a historic rival, to me growing up in the 80's a&m was the game. Beat the Aggies. I remember Tommy Hodson's freshmen year, glorious...

15th in wins my freshman year.
13th my senior year.
14th when the SEC split in 1992.
14th when Saban took over in 2000.
13th when Miles took over.
12th now.

I know one thing about saban
That dude hates coca cola. He has a brand new, fresh and cold one on his podium every time and never takes a sip from it. I wouldn't trust anyone that does that

Now had Saban not coached at LSU, LSU would be hovering around the bottom of the league just like the Dinardo era. And based on LSU'S not so great past, hiring a name brand coach is far fetched.

It's a rivalry..... just like Bama-UF in the 90's. Both teams playing with a lot at stake every year. Once one or both teams start to slip, it's just another game.

Well, to be fair, Miles and Hawthorne have a Coke and a Diet Coke in front of them during the Wednesday night show and Miles drinks from what seems to be a glass of ice water with lemon instead of his soft drink.
Product placement knows no boundaries I guess.
