Actually ACL fest is going on this weekend.

I would recommend you staying at the Lost Pines Hyatt on 71.

Austin is going to be pretty crowded and a mess. Just my opinion tho.

this ... acl limits their tickets, tho it's possible you could find something for friday night and/or sat night at the festival ... a single day pass is probably fairly expensive, tho ... the music is outstanding, however, ... you will not be disappointed ... it's an exceptionally well run music festival with very little waiting in line for food or shuttle buses ... if you can't get a ticket, try hard to get a ticket to stubbs bbq or some other music venue that will have late night/after festival music ...

and frick ole miss ... ...

Texas isn't even playing there that weekend so I don't see how that's a problem. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about with 6th street and what not

I mean the traffic kinda sucks and both the aquarium and zoo are a joke but Austin kicks arse if you are under 40 and older than 16.

There are few Ags more devoted than Hank, but Austin is a cool town. I spent three years there for law school, and I don't recall ever not having fun out on the town.

If you are actually going there, you will enjoy yourself.

Any Ag bad-mouthing Austin's night life either (a) is being a homer, (b) has not spent much time there or (c) is not old enough to gain access to the bars.

If someone wants to badmouth Austin politics, I will gladly join in.

Just be careful, remember the Ole Miss student that got nearly beat to death by angry tu students after their game last year.

If I recall right he almost died and it was just off of 6th street.

6th Street is always a good time. It's primarily a younger crowd, which is good for us in the 25 year old range. It is going to be a mad house this weekend though. Even more so than usual.

Don't get accosted by a bum.

Eat at Maudie's.

Seriously-fun town. Lots of good places on 6th Street. Try the Easy Tiger for a good beer garden.

Correct. And another arsehole ran over a young lady from MS and killed her at 2014 SXSW.

My bad. When you said project and "last year" I figured you meant college. Yes it's very fly and right by 6th street. Only stayed once.

Didn't you guys beat Texas in Austin last year? Why didn't you go then?

I was still in school then and had a project to work on that weekend.
