Hop daddy is for hipster figs. Best burger in town is at the jackalope. Chipotle burger or the chupacapbra (ground cabrito (goat) with chipotle peppers and chipotle pimento cheese) are the best ones and with the fried pickle spears. Not to mention the place serves cheap beer and whiskey. It is also filled with tattooed sluts. Go there and thank me later.

Are you planning to stay in Austin? If so, stay at the Driskill and walk to the bars on and near 6th Street.

The dude's a college student. The Driskill's cheapest night is $400

Nah I've been out of school for a while now and have a decent engineering job. I could swing that, is it worth it though?

Absolutely. Nice nice place. The bar inside is filled with gold digging women, its also at the west end of dirty 6th. Within walking distance of anything in the downtown area you will want to visit (including jackalope).

There is also a 4 star Hilton, Sheraton and Intercontinental right in downtown. Priceline them. Shame is in 2 months the new 1000 room JW will be open.

When the games out of town like this week you should have no trouble getting a room there.

It all depends on what you're interested in.

Foodwise I'd recommend Torchy's Tacos, Rudy's BBQ, or Hopdoddy's for a good burger. If you're more of a sandwich person Thundercloud and 24 diner are pretty solid choices.

Downtown may be full of a bunch of weird people this weekend because of ACL. Almost every Texas student will be in Dallas, but going out on West 6th should still be a good time.

Try and play some golf if you get the chance too. The area has some pretty decent courses.

How so? I've always heard it was one of the best college towns in the country. I thought it would be a no brainier while I'm in the area
