Since when did 7 years become 2 decades? I mean, we won a championship 15 years ago.

Which is why they paid us a small fortune in the most recent contract negotiation.

How's y'all's recruiting? You think that is sustainable? LOL
This is what Aggy comes back to every time. Recruiting is very important but there are countless examples of coaches that can recruit but can never develop the talent to win games. Aggies use this excuse because they are secretly very worried about that their offense will look like without Manziel. The defense will be once again be awful this year with all of the departures and unless they can put up 35 points a game this season is going to be very ugly for the Ags. Time to see what kind of coach Sumlin is in a real conference without Manziel.

I think when you have the best facilities in the country, the best stadium in the country, and the best program in the state of Texas, you're going to be fine.

You could say the same thing about USC and Kiffin, who i find compares best with Sumlin from a recruiting and coaching philosophy.(All flash, no substance, no defense). Worked out great for him. Facilities and gadgets wear pretty thin when you can't even finish top 2 in your division. You consider yourself the "Oregon of the south", and you're convinced these new toys will continue to bring recruits while Oregon itself is taking steps back due to lack of production on the field. You don't have the best player in the history of the program to bail you out this year.

First it's:
then it's:
Which is it? The fact is that OU used to easily outrecruit us during the B12 years. Case in point, the 2011 class, which was the last class signed before the SEC move was announced, OU was rated 13th, while A&M was rated 35th.
Or the year before, when OU was #4, and we were #19.
Or the year before, when OU was #11, and we were #24.
Or the year before, when OU was #5, and we were #18.
Do you see a pattern developing? That pattern no longer holds. In fact, it's completely reversed. How do you explain this?

Did you even read the OP? This thread isn't about who has the best COACH, or who has DONE the best coaching job. It's about which institutions can best help their coaches achieve success. Whether you think Sumlin in particular has what it takes is immaterial. He's going to take advantage of the situation at A&M or he isn't, but that has nothing to do w/ whether the advantages are there.
Look at Florida. Muschamp might be on his last leg there, but it is STILL considered a top job. Why? Because it's easy to get top recruits to come to UF. That's what it boils down to.

So many great jobs.
I would love to coach big-time college football. Total dream job for die-hard.
I think the best jobs are the jobs with the most passionate administrators and fans.
I love a boss who wants to win and win big!

Notre Dame is a fricking has been located in a shite town that is going broke faster than Detroit.
SCAR is an up and coming fricking beast located in the SEC, in the sunny South, surrounded by beaches and mountains and filled with supple beautiful willing women.
Grow the frick up.

They refuse to acknowledge it... Its been this way since we made the switch to the SEC. Im pretty sure its simply fear that as soon as we get these Sumlin recruits flowing into the system we will be a force.
Winner, winner. Chicken dinner.

Notre Dame is (and will remain) the crown jewel every conference commissioner would give their left nut to add.
The larger question is... With the enormous windfall of money pouring in via the SEC Network who will be the first two to challenge their conference GOR to try to join to SEC as 15 and 16?

Exactly. Everyone wants to make it Texas vs A&M, but they are still a top three job. The big shift is OU went from top 5 easy to barely top 10.

Notre Dame is in the ACC now ... sort of, and they are there to stay.
Va Tech and NC State is who will eventually be #s 15 and 16 for the SEC, but that's a long ways off.
